Hello! Some quick update about my life ☺️

2nd sem in law school is nearing its end. Rn is finals season and it's kicking my ass so hard. I'm planning to get back here once the sem ends so I could finish my ongoing stories. Thank you sm for being patient with me, I know I've been gone for so long 💗🥺💗

I'm thinking of dropping The Heart Holiday Act 4 sometime this week or next week. Hopefully, I could make it before Feb. 14. My hands are itching to write.

Hello, turns out I may drop this baby later than the supposed sched. I just finished my outline for Act 4 but life happened and I have to move into my new dorm by next week so I'll be quite busy buying, packing, and moving stuff.

So I guess I am back

Hello, this is just a random update. It's been so long. I think I left this blog inactive for 2 years(?). So...basically life happened. I graduated from uni, struggled in the last 2 years of uni, and now I'm in my 1st year in law school.

Anyways, I'm here just to let ya'll know I'm still alive and I'm still planning to finish my ongoing fics (especially The Heart Holiday and TPAHR). I missed my babies so much.

For those who waited for me, thank you so much for your patience and I apologize for this super late notice and quite tired(?)-sounding post. Law school messed up my sleeping schedule and I sleep an average of 3 hours daily so I hope for your kind understanding.

So for just a quick catch-up on what I've been up to before I left this app:

🌸 I had COVID in 2021 and I almost delayed myself from graduating bc I was so sick and I was struggling with my thesis that I felt the need to drop it. Luckily, I didn't drop it and I was able to finish it on time. Big shout out to my family who knew I would hate myself if I didn't graduate on time and supported me all throughout my thesis era. Ya girl is a Magna Cum Laude graduate 🏅

🌸 I applied for law school, not really thinking I would get in (bc I was already dying bc of my thesis and the review period starts the same period of my thesis writing). I just applied for the experience so if I fail, at least I already know how to answer the exam for the following year. So I was shocked that not only did I pass, I was able to get into the top law school in my country.

🌸 I rekindled my love for watching anime and reading mangas/manhwas/manhuas. I've been in love with these stuff since I was 6 yrs old and they helped me keep sane in the past 2 years.

🌸 I love Haikyuu and I've been an avid fanfic reader of Haikyuu fics. It's amazing and I enjoyed myself a lot so expect some reblogs of anime-related content.

🌸 Last anime watched: Chainsaw Man

🌸 Last manhwa read: We are not Dating

🌸 I still love BTS and I listen to their music although I'm not as active as a fan like I used to be. I also started stanning groups like ATEEZ and The Boyz.

🌸 I started getting into Western shows (sorry, Kdramas took up the entire 20 years of my life) and oh my god, I love Breaking Bad and that show is hands-down one of the best I've ever seen. Better Call Saul is amazing (tho I haven't finished this yet) and Stranger Things is also cool.

🌸 Currently enjoying my subjects Criminal Law and Civil Law. I hate Political Law bc it's kinda draining and the cases are boring and my god the great disparity of page numbers in Political Law cases - they're either 10 pages long or 185 pages long and I have to read them all (they're 11 Arial, single spacing, narrow margin).

so this happened. this is everyday in India. EVERY DAY some girl gets raped and this is how the authorities react. the authorities, the police, the government, the politicians literally take out fucking rallies and protests in FAVOUR of the rapists in this country.

she was 20.. her spine was broken, her body was torn, beaten, her tongue was cut out, her body paralysed and at the end, it broke her spirit. she STILL identified and NAMED her rapists and yet they're walking scot free.

and after all this, even her dead body wasn't handed over to her parents because God knows what more evidence were they hiding.

they're proving time and again that is the JUSTIFIED and LAWFUL treatment of LOWER CASTES, DALITS, MUSLIMS and WOMEN in this country. thank you for making me feel safe. it's deeply appreciated (:

Really loved the new chapter of heart holiday. I was waiting for this so long. I loved the background stories of Teddy, Nancy as well as y/n. And it felt real, not cliched. And also Mina and y/n's discussion about love and relationships. I'm in love with this fic just not because of the story but how real and relatable your words are. Balancing Action, Dialogue, Description, Summary, and Inner Monologue in Fiction

Hey friends! One of the only downsides to the updates I’m doing for The Complete Guide to Self-Editing for Fiction Writers second edition is that I won’t be able to color-code the text in the chapter about constructing scenes as I did in the first edition. I’ll figure out some other way (underlining, whatever), but I wanted to share the original version before it’s eclipsed because I think it’s really cool and helpful.

it might surprise you that when it comes to creating a scene, there are really only five building blocks at work: 


Action


Dialogue


Description


Interiority
 (aka Inner monologue; includes inner emotions, thoughts, and perceptions)

Narrative summary


You can pick and choose which are needed and assemble them in any combination you want. You might have two paragraphs that are only dialogue, followed by a paragraph of description and one sentence of action, followed by a paragraph that combines all five elements. You can even mix and match within a single sentence!

To illustrate, I’ve color coded a few passages thusly.

Red = Action

Pink = Dialogue

Green = Description

Blue = Interiority

Purple = Narrative Summary
