Queen’s always gotta be a queen no matter what she’s doing!” After shuffling again, Kian casually fanned out the cards again for her to pick out another one. “How you been, V? What’s new that you’re working on? Did you see that post I sent you on IG about my suit? People really won’t stop talking about it! ….my suit was blue right?”

“I know, I know, but I had to go with what my heart felt called to,” Nessa chuckled, feeling more of a sense of normalcy hanging around Kian. There was this air about him that was always upbeat and vibrant and she always admired that about him. “See, you get it! You know the meaning of the queen of each suit, right? My dad taught me when I was little how each queen has her own personality associated with her suit,” She offered the story with a smirk. She looked over at the cards that were in front of her and opted for a different card and made eye contact with Kian, nodding with a grin to let him know that she had picked. “I’ve been...alright, for the most part. Fall Fashion Week’s coming up soon, so I’m starting to roll out the designs I’ve been working on and there’s actually a few I wanted to show you and Jae-Sang to get some insight?--” She paused for a moment remembering her instagram messages and perked up with a smile, “YES! Honestly, between you and that suit, it’s going down in history, I hope you know that. No one can duplicate the way you wore it. And yes, Kian, it’s a very light iridescent blue.”

If anything, chances were she even was going to repeat the outfit from last year if she didn’t find anything else she liked. “Yeah, you are right, and I’d be dumb not to take advise from you.” She chuckled. “Um I have been alright thank you.” She smiled slightly. “What about you? And yes - Far too long! Are you free after this? Maybe we can get a drink? Or some food?”

“Okay, yes! I mean when you did your spontaneity thing, you stole the show last year, so I’m excited to see what you’ll conjure up this year,” Nessa grinned excitedly. If there was one holiday she loved showing up and showing off for, it was Halloween. “Well, it all just depends on what you have an eye for because everyone’s got different tastes,” She offered with a smile. “Yeah? Everything’s been good between work and life?” She followed up with, genuinely curious to hear about her friend’s life. “As they say, there’s never a dull moment here, but yes! We should definitely catch up, I’m free, surprisingly! Hmmm, why not get both?”

Vanessa was right: he could do literally anything he wanted. But he was so burnt out he didn’t know what to do anymore. Most nights after work, he got home, got into pajamas, and laid in bed either listening to music or an audiobook. He was getting bored of his day-to-day routine, but this was the life he signed up with going into corporate law. “I guess I haven’t had the energy to cause any mayhem lately,” he responded, shrugging.  

“You don’t strike me as the type to cause any type of mayhem,” Nessa responded rather bluntly. “Either way, the world’s your oyster. Rather than asking someone like me for advice on what to do, why not just do the damn thing. If you ask, that means you were already thinking about it.”

You’re not hallucinating, my face, is everywhere,” She grinned, scrunching up her nose as cutely as she did as she just openly laid out and bragged about her accomplishments. She had to be proud of herself after all. “Really? Oh god, you have to find a replica if it meant something major to you.”
