my favorite way of finding new artists to listen to is by searching up "band posters" on pinterest and listening to whoever has the coolest

the way some ppl talk about anna has me FUMING.

"She's such a bird! She was willing to marry a man she just met!" Because she was isolated from anyone even close to being her peer and the closest thing she had to friends were romance and fairytale books. She immediately sacrifices herself to save her sister from him and decks him in the face the second she gets the chance.

"She was so annoying! Why couldn't she just respect Elsa's wishes and leave her in the mountains!" Because she wasn't aware that Elsa almost killed her as a kid and that's why she's so adamant on keeping her distance. From her perspective, Elsa thought she'd judge her for her powers and she didn't, so logically Elsa doesn't need to stay in the mountains. She doesn't have the context of their parents acting like Elsa was a level 4 biohazard either. She doesn't have magical fourth wall breaking powers.

"Why didn't she let Elsa stop the forest fire! She has ice powers!" Possibly the dumbest argument because ice powers don't stop smoke inhalation?? If Elsa asphyxiated in there, there'd be no one to pull her out until it was too late, and she couldn't hold anything up to her nose to help cause she was busy with the fire.

"Why didn't she let Elsa find Ahtohallan by herself!" Because, once again, they have no idea what Elsa was gonna face between the forest and Ahtohallan. She'd be a worse sister if she immediately let Elsa go alone.

"She was so weird with Kristoff in the second movie!" YOU WERE JUST USING HER BEING BLINDLY IN LOVE WITH A MAN AS AN ARGUMENT AS TO WHY SHE'S A BAD CHARACTER. WHY IS HER BEING CAUTIOUS IN HER SECOND EVER RELATIONSHIP A CHARACTER FAILURE NOW?

All of this can be wrapped up with a pretty bow and a tag labeled "SHE WAS 18 IN FROZEN I". She experienced intense loneliness for fifteen years without know why, and proceeded to almost lose her sister twice within the span of the first movie. Fucking obviously she's not gonna potentially lose her sister again because she's having schizophrenic episodes and is hearing voices and wants to play Superman for some random spirits who were just destroying their kingdom.

if i had a nickel for everytime there was a campy, female focused, showstopping movie-to-musical adaptation on broadway with a blonde woman as a main character and someone from the original Spamalot cast playing her love interest that closed due to the production price to ticket sale ratio, i'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot, but it's crazy that it happened twice

something about lars and the real girl that i appreciate so so much is that he didn't just fall in love with margo and was magically "cured" from his asociality or touch aversion or his trauma pertaining his family. he was the one who took initiative with bianca to open himself up more and was able to do it with the support of his community.

even through the story where in a typical movie would be some big grand gesture of how he's becoming "normal" as a plot point, he continues to be awkward, dislike touching, and slightly offputting in a sense, for lack of a better word. It's not a character flaw that needs to be fixed, it's an extreme part of his personality that he simply softens by the end.

as someone who has a similar personality to him (albeit slightly less intense), i love that he can still have the non-traditional parts of his personality and still be loved platonically and romantically and not have to become something he isn't just to be worthy of his family or friends or possible love interest. gen brought tears to my eyes on my first watch
