For the get to know your fic writer asks: 3, 7, 39, 76 (Channel)!
from this post
3: Describe the creative process of writing a chapter/fic
When I get a fic idea, its usually a brainstorming conversation with a friend that has breached containment, and the first thing I do is write down all the ideas we talked about as bullet points in a document so I don't forget. Then, usually, I will collate a playlist to get a sense of the vibe and then choose a title from lyrics of one of the songs on the playlist. I know it's weird to do this first, but it really sets the tone for me, and I'll have that song on repeat as I write
7: How do you choose what POV to write from?
Sometimes it's just whatever POV I am imagining a scene from when I first come up with it, but often it comes down to what information I want the reader to have. Sometimes it's fun to have a fic that's kind of ABOUT one character be told from the POV of another character as they're trying to figure out what makes them tick without really understanding them. My omegaverse fic and this rarepair fic are both kinda like this.
But it all depends on what I'm trying to accomplish with a fic. The channel fades to snow works best being almost all Kepler's POV because he is completely stuck in his own head, and always on time and in tune is really all about Jacobi's perception of Kepler, so it has to be from Jacobi's POV.
39: Share a snippet from a wip
Here's a bit from a little one shot I'm working on with the clone Jacobis
“Fancy seeing you here,” Kepler drawled and gestured him inside, deciding to skip the pleasantries this time. “Whaddya mean by– oh,” Jacobi 2’s face contorted into a glower when he locked eyes with his double sitting on the bed. “What the hell is he doing here?” “Probably the same thing as you, if I had to guess.” “Wha– wait what did he say to you?” Kepler raised an eyebrow. “Well, what do you want to say to me?” Jacobi 2 gaped at him. “That’s not a rhetorical question. This is important data. Do your intentions differ or do they align?” “Okay, can we just… Can I talk to you alone?” Kepler stepped closer to him and lowered his voice. “I’ll start, if you’re embarrassed. The other Jacobi came here because he wants to fuck me. What about you, hm? Is that what you want too?”
76: Do you have any ideas that didn't make the final cut of The Channel Fades to Snow?
Most ideas that didn't make it into that fic, I'm still hoping to fit somewhere in the sequel fic so I won't describe in too much detail. One detail that didn't make it into channel that I won't be revisiting though is after their fight, when Kepler is moping about alone, I considered having him go out and try and fail to have a hookup with someone else. But then I felt like there's no way he would have the energy and will for that.
Re: the Bottom Kepler Week Discord server
Hi everyone,
As you may know, Discord is planning to implement global age verification in "the latter half of 2026" which means it could be any day now. See Discord's own info on it here. We know that many are against the sharing of data for age verification on principle, and we want to keep the Bottom Kepler Week server accessible, so we have made the decision to no longer mark it as age restricted.
This means that no one will need to complete age verification or use a VPN anymore to access the server, including those in the UK, Australia, or Brazil. However, it is still an 18+ server, so we have taken down our public invite links.
If you want to join, send a DM to either @vanilla-phantoms or @nammikisulora for an invitation. We're still more than happy for more Bottompler fans to hang out with! The event may be over, but we're still active there, doing writing sprints and a relisten of the show, and more.
In addition, if any of you have attached invite links to your event submissions, please remove them to avoid having public invites floating around.
Feel free to reach out if you have any questions!

41, 56, 70 for the fic asks!
from this post
41: Do you reread fics?
absolutely, I love rereading fics. I mostly use my bookmarks to save fics I think I might want to revisit later.
56: What's something about your writing that you pride yourself on?
I try really hard to capture a character's voice when I write, and sometimes I'm really proud of how that turns out
70: When asked, are you embarrassed or enthusiastic to tell people that you write?
That HIGHLY depends on who I'm talking to. I'd say I'm never embarrassed, but in person telling people I write fan fiction is just something I wait to say until I get to know them better, but I'm not ashamed of it. Online I'm more enthusiastic
Days 17-20 of drawing every bird I’ve ever seen
I have finally made it out of the waterfowl
writing asks: 23 and 27?
From this post
23: Best writing advice for other writers?
I honestly do not feel qualified in the slightest to give writing advice but here are two that I've heard that have personally helped me: 1st-- when writing that a character feels, wants, or is something, if I want it to be a little more show not tell, I imagine I am defending my claim to a lawyer with evidence. Like "He was jealous" "how do you know?" "Well, your honor, he A, B, and C". This is obviously not applicable to every time you write that a character feels, wants, or is something, but I find it to be applicable more often than not, and when I want to write a straightforward "tell" statement, I will try to do so with intent. 2nd-- when writing the first draft, just get something down and don't overthink it. The way that I do this is to literally not let my fingers stop moving for my set amount of writing time, even if I'm writing bullshit. Usually by the time I'm done, way more of my "stream of consciousness" is actually good and usable than I would've thought
27: What is my most and least favorite parts of writing?
This is pretty difficult to say tbh but I think my favorite part is probably when I get into the flow of it and discover ideas that connect that I didn't even plan ahead of time. It's like it's all coming together. I also always love brainstorming. I come up with new ideas way faster than I can write them
My least favorite part is second guessing myself and doubting my skills

How could he have been cursed with a lust so utterly at odds with his love?
I wrote this quite a while ago and it languished in my wips since I wasn’t able to execute the scale I had planned, but I still worked hard on it so I wanted to post what I have! I hope you enjoy
The new Witch Hat Atelier chapter has lots of great stuff in it but I wanna appreciate some deft characterization for Utowin, who, all things considered, we don’t really know that well.
It feels to me like he’s taking everything really personally and that says something about his morals and his priorities.
In this panel, it seems like what he’s MOST upset about, isn’t just that what Easthies did was wrong, but that he would be included in the people who would be hurt.
Similarly in this panel, when he and Lulucy can tell that Vinanna and Easthies are keeping secrets from them, he’s less concerned with Knowing The Truth and more concerned with feeling like they don’t trust him. The betrayal comes not from being against keeping secrets in general and more from feeling like he should be part of the inner circle who is in the know.
Maybe this is obvious to people already since it has already been strongly implied he has more loyalty to Easthies than he does to the pact, but this very much paints him as someone whose moral compass revolves around loyalty between people.
Like harm might be okay, but not between the knights, not between him and Easthies, who are supposed to have each others backs
Very, very interesting - I strongly agree. I do feel like he’s also upset it’s morally wrong, but what he’s most upset about is that he’s not an exception to Easthies. Mayhaps that’s just how I read it - but he is someone who’s loyal to a fault.

Jacobi took a shaky breath, his hands resting on Kepler’s now bare chest. “Yeah, just… can we— can we pretend like this is the first time?” Kepler kissed behind his ear and swayed with him for a moment. “I would like that. “What would you have said to me if you really had wanted to take me home in that bar when we met?” Jacobi murmured, hooking his fingers into Kepler’s waistband. “What would you have done?” “Ah. Well I wouldn’t have taken you home from that bar on that day. It was 3pm and you were very drunk.” “Okay, a different bar. Any bar.” Kepler frowned slightly. “I don’t want you to be a stranger; I want you to be–... We can still make this the first time that counts.”
