Philipe gets magically transported to a reality where things worked out a little to the left. And meets Nas'elle. Who explains a lot. In depth stuff under da cut.

Philipe is a half elf, only growing into his** more elven features in his early teens. He took this terribly, being raised in a kingdom that was incredibly racist to elves (and also having worn an enchanted crown since he was three that whispered about how it was his duty to destroy the elven empire). So, lot of self loathing/self harm occured (namely, he chopped off his ears). His life began turning around when an incredible bodyguard saved it. And through many trials he ended up more self actualised, back on the throne (as king consort) and overall pretty happy.

He kept putting down dysphoria to other things. Like- yeah of course he's really on top of shaving- that evil crown had an ancestor in it- that had a beard!!! he doesn't want to look like that evil guy >:(. Yeah he likes the idea of wearing dresses- but doesn't everyone?! He doesn't need to pretend to be this big powerful King anymore- so of course he wants to explore clothing options now that he actually has a choice in the matter. yada yada yada.

Nas'elle, did not have this same bodyguard, and after a successful coup, only her former court mage's mercy saved her from the gallows. She escaped and hid for a few years in the outskirts, watching from a distance as her kingdom fell into ruin. That space away from people gave her a lot of room to figure some things out, even if she was still in denial to a degree when the elven emperor shows up at her door one day, and spirited her off to live in effectively a guilded cage.

She's pretty happy all things considered, got her ears healed, no one even knows about her past- she's a new person now! Even finds herself entangled with the emperor's daughter and is thrilled about that. Until suddenly her girlfriend brings home alternate versions of themselves- including Philipe- who still looks the part of a king to Nas'elle. and who immediately outs her as having being that genocidal monarch from a hundred or so years ago.

** Philipe after this experience absolutely does transition more consciously (he was kind of already presenting more femininely but didn't view it as a trans thing as much as just fashion preferences, after this he feels more comfortable persuing some permanent physical changes), but pronoun wise i'm still undecided on whether he has a preference, as in the campaign itself he wasn't out yet, and being royalty isn't referred to by pronouns very much anyway (your majesty etc).

Nas'elle strictly uses she/her, she puts as much distance as possible between herself and her as "philipe" and the pronouns v much reflect that.

this is *old* and i *hate it* but i didn't realise i hadn't posted it. Dialogue under cut, from my short story Growing Pains.

Context: Philipe killed a lot of elves during his time as king. In the election after his deposement, Lougio ran unsuccessfully. Lougio is also a half elf , he very much wanted Philipe executed. Little does Lougio know, Philipe is actually also a half elf.

Philipe is the second most unpopular person at a party, Lougio makes the mistake of being the most unpopular. Philipe and Lougio have a chat.

“Not to mention your equality activism surrounding half elves.” Lougio’s curiosity vanished, and his face became obstinate, the half elf scoffing. “And what - pray tell - were your thoughts on that?” Philipe could positively feel Lougio weighing up the effect on his career if he punched a man that, if he had had it his way, would be executed by now. Philipe’s adrenaline spiked, he hadn’t felt this good in months, he was in control right now and Lougio couldn’t do anything but watch. “Well, may I tell you something, Lougio?” He lowered his voice further, he leaned into the man’s personal space, and watched him stiffen, fury barely contained. 

Philipe acknowledged this with a smirk, and brushed his hair to the side, Lougio seemed puzzled at first, the light in the hall making him squint. This close Philipe could feel his breath slowing and then picking up again, a brief flash of confusion followed by a dawning realisation of what the mangled remains were. Lougio looked down at him with undisguised horror, not from the sight, but from the questions it brought. Philipe could feel Lougio waiting, perhaps for answers, eyes glued on him. You aren’t getting any. He glanced up at the man, smugly. “I have somewhat of a vested interest...”

Venting about recent controversies below, you really don't need to read all that. it's more for me because I want to get my thoughts out there.

One of the cool things about liking stuff and drawing is that sometimes things you like can become just a bit fucked and now you are incredibly demotivated. Anyway, it's really cool that within a couple months skizzleman was revealed to be a *super cool* ally of trump supporters (and not trans people) and Homestuck went through the most comical falling off a cliff into a hole of vile behaviour ever.

When a piece of art is so comically irreparable, it feels weird not to post it lol, I had a lot of fun drawing what I did of this :). maybe I'll try to reclaim my silly gamzee or something.

this is an oooooold unfinished comic, but thought i'd chuck it here.

Originally was going to be longer, one thing i think about a lot with the beta strilondes is that they, especially rose, contends with behaviours she inhereted. Even meeting the alphas, at a certain point the parallels between their parents and these new ectobiological clones sort of withers away. Roxy never grew up to be Mom lalonde, Dirk feels some degree of kinship but its pretty negligble. And so all that's left, and all those similarities in mannerism and identity exist just in their kids. This is more of a personal comic, people can leave your life, and their influence somewhat leaves as well. Till you find yourself aging into a face that smiles like theirs, till you're looking in the mirror and your hands move a certain way and suddenly there they are again. Even behaviours you view at first like spontaneous unassuming developments sometimes reveal themselves to be convergent from an outside perspective.
