They were both laying on the ground now, grasping for air. Nyssa laughed and turned her whole body to face him. “This why you don’t tickle me. And who said you have a pretty face?” She rested her arm on Jude and started making circles on his chest with her thumb. “Maybe. I honestly wouldn’t care what we do or where we get to as long as I’m with you— Oh, look at that, your cliche-ness is contagious.” It was silly but she meant it. She laughed even more and mimicked him, smiling as wide as she could, making her eyes turn almost unseeable. “I’m waaay cuter.”
"Hey, you aren’t weak. Honestly, you’re one of the strongest people I know, both physically and emotionally," a laugh escalated her lips. "And even if you were, everyone’s got weaknesses. Even Tony Stark," she grinned. Nyssa loved Iron Man. She actually planned to watch the trilogy with Jude soon but she hasn’t asked him about that yet. She smiled at him. "It’s okay. And hey, if you were ever a girl, I’d be a guy. And the only way that would ever happen is in a parallel universe."
He should have gotten used to it, but Jude's skin tingles every time Nyssa touches him lovingly like that. It felt like tiny sparks of lightning, the good ones that jolted his nerves alive. "I have a pretty face. But you have a prettier one," he grinned, lightly lining her nose with the tip of his index finger, as a feather would. He was probably red all over and he didn't know what else to say. "You're definitely waaaaay cuter when you're being a cliched little shit. I'm not one to complain, though."
Jude strengthened his grip on Nyssa's waist and pulled her closer. "I'm technically the Tony Stark of the family. He's probably my favourite Avenger. But I guess I've learned that from him, too. I'm as human as a human can be. I make a lot of mistakes, and from them, I learn. I'm dangerous, too, most of the time, and I'm too headstrong for my own good." He shut his eyes tight and fluttered them open, finding his girlfriend's eyes as hers found his.
He continued, exhaling, "But I will be your hero, your soldier, your Tony Stark. Whatever we are, all I know is I'm lucky to have you... And I might even be the most cliched human being the world has spewed out." He let out a soft chuckle and attached his lips to hers for a few moments. He felt time pass by beneath his closed eyelids, but it stopped altogether because only they mattered at that point, that moment -- and it felt like infinity. Once they pulled away, Jude buried his head in the small crook of her neck, just below the throat, and kissed her there, too.
