I love Avatar: The Last Airbender but I can't stop thinking about how they named the character who turns into the moon the literal Mandarin word for moon, then just pronounced it a little differently than in actual Mandarin Chinese. I'm sure this has been brought up before but I'm bringing it up again because I can't stop thinking about it.
Sometimes I wish I were a fish on a softsoap logo.
Like this fish seems to have a peaceful existence. And you know what? I want that.
I go to a high school that limits students' EXCUSED absences to the point where if you have too many, even if they were excused by your parents or a doctor, you could potentially lose credit for a class. The result of this is that students regularly come to school sick and cause outbreaks of everything from the common cold to the stomach flu to strep throat among the student population. Anyway I'm hoping that due to recent events and the fact we might reopen in a month they'll reconsider that policy.
And here we have my funky little candle collection! The one on the left I made at girl scout camp when I was 12, the one in the middle I bought at a history mueseum giftshop, and the one on the right I made at a renaissance festival when I was 10.
So I've been working on college scholarship applications, and so many of them are like "write us a four page essay and you MIGHT get $1,000 to put towards college!" and I feel very discouraged because like, is it worth it to write an entire essay to MAYBE get enough money to cover 1% of my college experience? Is it? Is it really?
I'm slowly coming to terms with the fact that all of my financially feasible options for college are state schools in the midwest and I'm literally never going to escape this endless abyss of corn fields and move somewhere interesting. I'm trapped in the corn forever.
At this point wearing winged eyeliner and big stompy boots are my two primary personality traits.
Honestly if Google is going to mine my data for information on me they could at least get that information right. I just logged onto Google adsettings to see what Google thinks they know about me and apparently they think I'm 45. I'm 17. What happened.
I'm currently reading the book "Their Eyes Were Watching God" by Zora Neale Hurston as summer homework for school, which contains the quote "Half gods are worshipped in wine and roses. Real gods require blood." And I am still reeling from the absolute raw power in that quote hours after reading it.
Everything I caught after a couple days of fishing. I guess I just do a lot of fishing.
Well I just found the PERFECT ravine to scream my agony into the void with. Brb.

I'm normally not very good at drawing but I drew this maple leaf that I'm actually kind of proud of. Be-leaf in yourself kids!
My mom tried to send a card to my grandparent's PO box.
My grandparents have not had a PO box in eleven years.
This situation in Sudan makes me so so so so so mad and angry because they CUT OFF the Internet so people can’t say what’s happening there and they rely on US to be SAVED because they’re currently living a NIGHTMARE they can’t even go to the streets NORMALLY and they can’t do ANYTHING ABOUT IT BECAUSE THERE IS NO INTERNET. THE SUDANESE PEOPLE RELY ON US. DO SOMETHING.
