essek's pov of this crazy day: woke up in zadash, was rejected by eiselcross teleport weirdness like thrice then took a nap, was in high level battle twice including an ancient demon, MF ludinus shows up and doesnt even look at him, is witness to INSANE historical events, battles a necromancer ghost mage, then immediately has guests for tea by nightfall, all while babysitting a bunch of powerful unpredictable idiots (who are now at his home having said tea and eating his cookies)

y'all might know that i am a staunch supporter of short haired Essek, so when i learned about his new hairstyle i went mmmmm not sure about that! but it took me like. two and a half hours to change my mind. it's cool to experiment with your appearance! the dude deserves some cute fancy curls, as a treat. also zmeess you've been growing out your hair from a buzz cut for years, now he's just like you fr or whatever the kids say.

so yeah, i support you man, you go and dazzle everyone with your fabulous Xhorhassian looks

a while back i saw a picture @mllekurtz took in the gardens of Villa Taranto and really wanted to do a little study of it. then inserting everyone's favorite wizards into the potential picture was suggested, so naturally i no longer had any other choice but to go through with it. it truly looked like a dreamy garden somewhere in Exandria and the wizards fit in too well 🤌

Essek was the leader of the cheek kiss poll for a good while, but right at the end Caleb took off and won by just ten votes! the whole poll made me think that i can easily picture Essek defaulting to cheek kisses rather than kisses on the lips as an expression of romantic affection, and i also chuckled a bit at the thought that Caleb going for a demure cheek kiss rather than some mouth-on-mouth action when they said goodbye at the Grove might have even scored him some brownie points with Essek 🤭

also while i was working on this one i was reminded of the first shadowgast picture i ever drew, which was also Caleb kissing Essek on the cheek! it was very fun to compare the two and see that the way i draw the wizards hasn't changed much at all. i really had a clear picture of them in mind from the start didn't i LOL
