do splinter and April also hate junior like Leo, Donnie, and raph? April seems chill with having him around but what were her thoughts as it was happening? What about splinter? In the scene he was mainly focused on draxum. If splinter caught junior in the lair what would happen?
April definitely had to work through her feelings on letting Junior keep the key hidden, but she got through it better because of her journalism schooling, honestly. She’s just as brash and stubborn as the boys, but since college and taking her classes, she’s definitely learned to see both sides of the story and, as much as she absolutely HATES it and wants to rebel against it, she knew that in the moment Junior made the best choice with the information they had to protect everyone else. It still took a while for conversations with Junior to be anything more than awkward and stilted, but it eventually evened out to a new normal. She didn’t want to completely cut him off from his family again.
Splinter is definitely conflicted because he’s BEEN the one who has to make a choice like that. Between what’s ’right’ and saving his family. He just made the opposite choice and chose his sons. So Splinter’s resentful about Juniors choice, but he also understands exactly how hard that decision was. It doesn’t stop him from being a little bitchy towards Junior if Splinter sees him around, but their interaction is very limited. Junior never really knew the Master Splinter of the future, so he doesn’t have much of a baseline to compare it to so it doesn’t bother him that much.
