2012 Splinter, in the rottmnt’s Hidden City: I have missed being able to walk freely outside. It is a great gift to once again blend into a crowd. To be treated as normal.

So. First Father’s Day I decided to spend without my dad. And from Day 1 of being in this fandom, I have always admired everyone’s favorite rat dad. Imperfect though Master Splinter is, he always proves himself to be a savvy sensei and a supportive dad. I always admired that in the dude, and looked up to his character so much as a kid.

So today I thought long and hard, and found what I loved about Splinter. Here (along with my drawings) are my conclusions.

He is a listening ear, and a source of gentle support when he witnesses his sons struggling, even (especially) with obstacles they must ultimately face alone.

He learns and appreciates the intricacies of each of his boys’ personalities, and believes undoubtedly that they can succeed in whatever they put their mind to.

He finds ways to share in his sons’ joys, finding his own way to relate to them, and in turn they want to make him proud with what they achieve.

He acts fearless, even when he doesn’t feel it. His character, at the end of the day, is there to protect his sons, and do his best to teach them how to protect themselves one day.

Happy Father’s Day, to all those who celebrate.

Really sorry for the brief hiatus, these past few weeks have been very stressful and a relative has been in the hospital. All is well now though, I just needed to step away from social media a lil bit so I could de-stress.

Day 4: Meeting parent

I decided to take one rewritten version of "what if Mona Lisa had participated more in other episodes" (here it is, take a look). I roughly took the shot where Splinter and Mona became friends while Raphael was struggling with his fear of insects.

In fact, it's even useful for me to draw Mona more, because it helps me strengthen her Image in my head more without the help of concept Art.

And Splinter... He doesn't look like the chibi in my past art anymore.

I adore Rise Splinter, I can rant about how he loves his sons and adopted kids so much.

I did have a hard time drawing him though, and was only able to get one drawing done without fully losing my sanity.

I redrew a storyboard panel I found a few months ago because it was too cute not to.

Raphael finally got the little attacker off his face. But not unscathed! He's gonna go get something for all the scratches on his face at the Med-Tent and hopefully ditch his Mini. @vanilkaray While he's off doing that-- Mikey notices new people from his world arriving to help set up for the next round!!!
