So I finally finished "The Sonny Joon Game"

I hated it so much I refuse to call it by name.  

Spoilers for the 30th Nancy Drew game.  ;)

Okay seriously though what the actual fuck.  I have never been so passive about completing a Nancy Drew game.  That save file sat half finished for WEEKS.  Normally, I can barely stand having to stop gameplay at all the first time through, and this game I suddenly was like, "oh yeah, I never finished that".  THAT HAS NEVER HAPPENED.  

There was no actual plot that made sense.  I don't care that the game show was "sabotaged", because that was barely even the focus.  Turns out, Sonny Joon (who, ugh, was not what I expected), is just crazy and there's no explanation as to why the show isn't shut down (because wouldn't the person who's NARRATING THE SHOW be nearby?  wouldn't that make sense?  instead all they do is threaten him passively).  The thing with his grandfather made no sense, the culprit made no sense (because the sabotage wasn't even a THING by the end).  Like, as soon as the focus turned from the actual gameshow so Sonny's grandfather I knew the end was going to suck worse than anything.  This is arguably my least favorite ending.  

Seriously though, at least RAN was a throwback to a ballin' game.  This was just discombobulated bullshit.  

And Bess being stupid and useless and boy crazy over Sonny Joon was so disappointing.  George is asleep from maybe a concussion (why wasn't Nancy even remotely concerned about that) and Bess is useless and NED WASNT A PHONE-A-FRIEND.  Instead we have ass-backwards Jamila and just oh my God this was a mess.  I automatically am disappointed when Ned isn't a phone-a-friend but Bess who's normally my second favorite had maybe three good moments and then she just stood there and was annoying.

Seriously, this takes the cake as my least favorite game of all time.  I mean, I thought RAN and CRE sucked, and then this came along.  Between this and the really weird and confusing plot of SPY, I'm not even that excited for the next game.  I feel like they're running out of decent plots, and should probably go back to totally basing games off of books because those were balla.  Shadow Ranch?  Secret of the Old Clock?  Hell yeah, man.
