@vanitani ➼ TOSHI KAI - SATO
Things had been rough for the teen, trying to get used to things being civilized and not dog eat dog… He had finally been allowed out of the house to wander to his heart content around the city, that was… within the constraint of his wheelchair that he kept pushing along the sidewalk. There were some off looks, making him grumble in curses at them. They were just a bunch of STUPID MORTALS that didn’t understand !
It wasn’t his fault he couldn’t walk. It was the men who were in clear sight, installing technology that was made with the abuse of mythical beasts. It sickened him, only putting more gasoline into the fire that was already burning high.
And then, someone tipped his chair as a joke – one of the assholes he assumed from the high school that saw him as prey due to his weak stature. He hit the ground hard, knees that already had improper bone structure forcing him to yelp in pain, glaring back with a vengeance but, the guilty had already high tailed it out of there. In his rage, he couldn’t help but to summon a burst of wind that sent a trashcan into a nearby door – shattering the glass upon impact and making many pedestrians confused and terrified.
But then, an odd scent came by – pulling his focus from his anger, stopping the whirlwind as he looked up to a stranger. “ What do you want? “ Harsh, but it was understandable as he tried to push himself up, pain being all that showed within his eyes. It took a moment for him to breathe, bones settling as he pushed his wheelchair upright, not caring much for the spilled drink… He’d get another one anyway. “ Did you see where that fucker went? Not like it matters… Bloody ‘ell…” Maybe this is what he deserved for being a brat to his uncle – though, the stupid puns weren’t exactly helping, and mother… She had her own problems to bare, so he hoped no one would call the police, it wasn’t worth getting into a debate that would end in him just being sat back at home.
“ … you uh, need somethin’ sheila? ‘m sorry for my attitude but uh… yeah. “
For Pyrrha exploring new cities was always fun, she had gotten over the nervousness of new places long ago and since all she did was wander, new places were always her goal. This city was not the best city she had been in but it didn’t reek with the black plague and after that disaster a city without a contagious disease was all she asked for.
Turning a corner the goddess looked up to see a mean man push a boy’s wheelchair over. It horrified her to see that happen and her legs were moving towards the fallen boy before she could even think about what happened. The crowd was thick around the boy though and Pyrrha had to push her way through, by the time she did he was back upright in his wheelchair.
The sudden and angry curse coming from his mouth made her flinch back as she went to kneel beside him. But she had been cursed at much worse before so after a second she resumed her kneeling by his side and looked over him. He seemed to be okay.
“ I didn’t see where he went no.... He was young and ignorant no doubt, no need to get upset over it now. “
As always, she spoke calmly and looked him in the eyes as she did so. It was important to her that the person she was talking to knew that her attention was on their conversation and nothing else.
“ I don’t need a thing, I came to check on you. Are you okay? I can’t believe none of these people came to help you up. “
With that last comment she sent a side eyed glance to the remaining bystanders.
“ That makes them as bad as the one who tipped you over. ....... I’m Pyrrha by the way. What’s your name? “

It had been a few months since she brought orchids to the village. The heavy bag upon her back was nothing, white floral in a bouquet being gingerly grasped as she walked up the worn down mountain path. The villagers of Tuto had told her to stay the night, to rest, but she simply couldn’t – moving forward as if pushed by the wind, even as the air got thick with light fog, she had her shrine to keep, and a promise to keep.
It looked no different than it had the day it happened. The destruction that she felt she caused, the gate splattered in blood now years old, the buildings ransacked and slashed by claws of monsters. Wolves in sheeps clothing – that saying had always been so true but she was but a child when it happened who only thought she could help a monster become a man.
The priestess bit her lip, walking upon the broken stones to the center. Once a beautiful statue, surrounded in floral was now overtaken by weeds that were taller than she was. Her breath held still for a moment, hiding her thumbs within her palms as she gingerly carried her offering to the alter she herself had made. Stones that had been pushed out of place, a little table being all she needed to place the plants down and clasp her hands together in prayer. Solemn eyes looked downward before hearing one of the old wooden doors creek, causing her to jolt upwards, breath hiccuping as a single flick of the wrist was all it took to form what seemed to be a stardust that combined into a long, sharp spear.
“ Wh-who’s there? “ Her voice cracked, fear forming as knees quaked. She feared for the worst, feared that one of the wolves was still very alive and had come to finish the job and yet… The sensation of a powerful magic made her shift back more, standing with her spear in front of her– held in both hands as her footing became just a tad more firm. Head bowed in respect, but that did not mean that she’d loose her guard… Not in the village that had haunted her dreams. Not in the village that she saw her abusers and lovers corpse reside …
“This is a fallen v-village of the Yongs – I am the last of the tr-tribe… If you are of the mischievous, thi-this is your only warning; get out now o-or else… o-or else… “ She gulped at the lump in her throat, hazel eyes so fearful as she didn’t dare to gaze towards the sound, keeping her head low. It was rude after all and for she was the only priestess left. It’d bring dishonor to be crude to a …
Her hands quaked, poorly wrapped in old bandages yet she gripped tight upon the pole of her spear. She didn’t care if she adjetated the burns, only… “ I am Aya Yong, th-the only priestess of this village l-left… So please…. please… “
don’t hurt me.
Some times, every few hundred years she would return to her town. Walk through the rotting wood buildings, down the dirt roads and stare at the chapel erected in her name. But she never could bring herself to go inside, to see the altar in which she was killed, to stare at the stained glass depicting her surrounded in light healing the ill.
Instead she always gazed at the statue of her in front of the chapel, telling herself that it was all meant to happen. She could help people much easier now, she was better at it and she could never die which meant she could help others forever. And though she told herself this she never believed it.
But today. Today would be the day she walked through that door and confronted her past. So she stepped forward, hands reaching out to push open the creaking wooden door only for it to open to a different ruined village and a girl at what appeared to be a shrine.
Door swinging shut behind her, Pyrrha’s widened at the change in scenery and at the stranger who suddenly had a spear in her hand but would not look towards her. Listening to what the woman said, the goddess’ eyebrows knitted together and she frowned. Was this girl all alone here? The last priestess...? Last of the tribe?
Staying where she was she spoke softly, concerned gaze on the bandages wrapped around the priestess’ hands ignoring the spear. Pyrrha was, startled, to say the least. Walking into a different village and trying to make sense of what the other was saying was not easy but the stranger seemed far more scared than she and all she wanted to do was calm her down.
“ Aya Yong... It is nice to meet you. I’m Pyrrha. “
The goddess found introducing herself was always a good start, when just meeting new people or in odd situations like this. Maybe just hearing a friendly voice would ease the strange priestess’ mind. Or so she hoped.

Something always drew Pyrrha to small towns and villages that have been abandoned and forgotten to time. Much like herself they were ruined and left in obscure corners of the world to be lost in memory. Why this particular village was deserted she did not know, but she admired the stone work of the buildings and cobblestone streets. Though crumbling and lacking structure now, the old homes and shops had a certain charm with the creeping ivy and moss growing up their walls. The goddess decided to stay here a few days, find a more complete building and reside in it until she had locked this place in her memory to forever immortalize it in remembrance.
Ahead she saw a large tree in the center of the village, growing large and tall its branches hanging low resembling a weeping willow but with bright red flowers growing along the thin branches with the dark green leaves. It must be this tree, she thought, that drew her here. Though her train of thought was interrupted by the clashing of swords and angry yelling.
A woman with silver hair, a large dog by her side, backed towards the tree fighting several men. And the men were losing. Even Pyrrha, a woman with no sword experience, could recognize they were not doing well. Hiding behind a crumbling stone wall she watched as the men fell one by one, leaving a trail of bodies to the tree where the woman disappeared behind the leaves.... Covered in blue.
It was confusing for her, to see blue liquid scattered on the ground as she slowly walked towards the tree. A voice in the back of her mind was yelling at her to be more cautious but if that woman needed help Pyrrha was going to try and help.
Parting the hanging branches slowly she saw the woman and saw the scraps and bruises.... and the blue. It dawned on her then that the blue was this woman’s blood. Which also made her realize that the other was not human. But that did not matter now.
“ My name is Pyrrha....”
The goddess stood just inside the veil of leaves, a few feet away from the woman sitting at the base of the tree. Swallowing, always nervous when addressing new people, she kept her hands open where the other could see them. Trying to remain as un-intimidating as possible.
“ I came to see if you were okay. I can help with those wounds. “

Ever since his previous encounter with the woman with holy aura surrounding her, he had stalked her presence in the woods as if she were his prey and he was waiting for the right moment to pounce for the kill.
Though killing her wasn’t what he was planning on doing, in all honesty he hadn’t a clue what exactly he was planning. Ever since he fell his soft spot for women only grew larger, they were a forbidden fruit to his kind and getting a taste of just one was enough to corrupt a man.
There was no turning back, after all.
He had noticed something though, it felt as if another presence was stalking her as well, something that had bothered him greatly- She was something he had currently taken interest in, she was his.
Unlike him, who enjoyed to remain in the shadows instead of actually interacting with her, the other presence approached. These people weren’t anything special, they weren’t a divine creature nor were they a demon like him– They were normal, normal humans.
Who were swinging a knife at the woman before them.
Without thinking, the male moved from his hiding spot, just in time to shove the female behind him so that instead of her taking the sharp blade he received the full force of the blow.
“What the fuck?” Tadashi growled, the knife was nothing special- Yeah, it hurt like a little bitch but he wouldn’t exactly die off from a human made blade.
Pyrrha had just been walking, but of course that was when all bad things happened. It was rare she could go on a walk without something going wrong, whether it be tripping over herself or almost being stabbed again there was always something bound to happen.
A voice called out to her saying ‘Pyrellis!’ The goddess barely had time to register the knife flying at her before she was shoved behind someone. It happened so quickly all she could do for a second was stare at the man she tried to help the other day.
It hit her then, that he had just saved her life, taking the knife that was meant for her. His obvious anger catching her off guard. Getting her wits about her again, Pyrrha stayed close to, but behind the one protecting her, eyes wide hands shaking, she frowned as the attackers yelled at her saver.
‘Get away from her!’ Few of them seemed willing to fight though.

“I don’t need your help.” Tadashi practically spat out to the girl, she was obviously not human but he hadn’t a clue what she really was. Something holy, probably, she had the same light around her that he once had.
“ Being difficult won’t change a single thing! “
Her feelings were hurt of course, but she wasn’t just going to let him be alone in a time of need.
“ Please, allow me to help. “
