Electric/Water Yamper

“The Electric/Water Yamper is a variant that has been selectively bred to be able to survive long and dangerous treks out to sea. The fur growing around their neck is incredibly thick and catches millions of tiny air bubbles, creating something of a built-in inflatable life jacket once in contact with the water. The design of the fur prevents it from getting waterlogged, meaning that these bubbles never pop and this life-vest never deflates. To keep the hind portion of the body stable, an air bubble grows from the tail, allowing the back to remain straight while floating in the water.

A thin film on the surface of the bubble as well as around the ears, eyes, and lips of this variant glows faintly with an electrical current and reflects light, particularly at night, making it easier to spot the little Pokemon as it floats among the waves. Let it be known that this variant has not been bred to much to be able to swim as it has to be able to safely float for extended periods of time, allowing the Pokemon to rest when tired out at sea. Their legs remain too short to allow them to take up much speed, be that on land or in water. The flow of the currents against their body constantly provides them with backup energy, allowing them to go extended periods of time without food as well.

As of late, this variant has started to take on a civil workload by remaining stationed out in shallow waters to act either as lifeguards or ship guides. The yamper placed on public beaches have been trained to release bright flashes of light from their tails to signal an emergency, letting life-guards know that there is trouble in the water. Those who are used to guide ships merely float out in the water at night, using their glowing tails to help guide ships towards shore.”

I’ve been bored the past few days. Decided to give drawing Numel a go. Went ahead and turned it into a line-art of @magma-mouse‘s Numel character, Dennis.

The breeder merely offered a huff of protest, rolling over in her bed. It was just a cold. She had a headache and a stuffy nose and admittedly she was incredibly tired. But she also had work to get done, and it wasn’t going to get done if she just stayed in bed all day. 

Not that she didn’t appreciate Saburo’s concern. She was just a bit of a workaholic who didn’t like resting off-schedule.

(Believe it or not, Ayala is actually prone to short bouts of sickness. She’s just so involved with her work, that all she’ll do is pop some medicine and keep at it. It takes something shy of being crippled by her illness to keep her from getting her work done)
