Links and art commissions

this week has been hard for me. started this mixed media attempt as a form of art therapy. i plan to confidently paint a figure with acrylics and oils without getting too detailed too fast. i think i've used the term "loosening up" a lot recently. trying to trust in my artistic instincts more. for example, painting over a sketch and trusting myself to refine the figure over time instead of painting using a color-by-numbers approach. i'm not happy with the figure sketch; i'm definitely not keeping these clothes. i sketched the pose from an old unsplash ref, and i'd like to make it more fluid.

i want some hot pink peeking thru the oils so i added them on the final acrylic layer. i mixed up some purples and realized i can make magenta with this powder pigment i got in france when i was 14

i was pulling out old collages to decorate my kitchen cabinets, and i was wondering why this one was peeling so much from the backing paper. apparently past me taped this one to my first attempt at oil painting. that. explains it

Darkness Emergent LA is over, and through i may weep, that means i can finally share my new poster design! last time i played my underground sensation CYAN, i got the idea to design and print posters that i could hand out and sign for my "fans". they were a hit, so i felt i needed to go all out on the next set. these were printed with silver foil on the front, where the white areas are. sadly i ordered too many and have about 100 left, but they still function as very fun business cards. i'm so proud of the design and the little easter eggs i included
