Asteroid medusa: where people fear, misunderstand or become strangely intimidated by you according to my observations

asteroid Medusa (149) is one of the most misunderstood asteroids in astrology. most people immediately think it represents revenge or being “evil,” but that’s honestly a huge oversimplification.

to me, Medusa often shows where people project onto you, where your power makes others uncomfortable, where you’re unfairly judged, or where you unintentionally intimidate people without even trying. sometimes it can show where you’ve experienced betrayal, shame or being turned into the “villain” of somebody else’s story. it can also show where people become fascinated by you while acting like they dislike you.

this asteroid doesn’t automatically make someone scary or mean. more often than not, i’ve noticed it describes the part of you that other people don’t know how to handle.

is Medusa ever retrograde?

yes. because Medusa is an asteroid, it goes retrograde regularly. if your Medusa is retrograde, i’ve noticed a lot of these themes become more internal. instead of openly intimidating people, you may spend more time questioning your own power, hiding parts of yourself, or only realising later how strongly other people reacted to you.

🐍 Medusa in Aries / 1st house

people can immediately feel your presence, even when you’re doing absolutely nothing. i’ve noticed this placement gets labelled as “intimidating” just for existing. you could literally be minding your business and someone has already decided you’re confident, arrogant or difficult to approach. the funny thing is, a lot of the time you don’t even realise you’re coming across that strongly. people tend to project strength onto you before they know anything about your personality.

this placement can make people weirdly jealous of what you have. your appearance, your money, your style, your voice, your possessions or even the way you carry yourself. i’ve noticed people with this placement often attract silent competition. someone will compare themselves to you without you ever asking them to. there can also be a tendency for people to underestimate your self-worth until you finally stop accepting less than you deserve.

your words affect people much more than you realise. people remember things you’ve said years later, replay conversations with you and sometimes completely misunderstand what you meant because they read so deeply into it. i’ve noticed gossip can follow this placement more than most, not because you create it, but because people keep talking about you after you’ve left the room. there can also be people who feel intellectually threatened by you.

people often assume you’re emotionally weaker than you actually are… until they realise they were completely wrong. family dynamics can be complicated with this placement because you’re often cast into a role you never actually chose. i’ve noticed people with this placement become the emotional “villain” in someone’s story simply because they finally started protecting themselves. there can also be a powerful instinct to protect the people you love.

Saturn & Your toughest Battle

I see Saturn as a fatherly planet. In my opinion, he’s a strict, authoritarian teacher, there to force us through the growing pains of this life. For this, I have crafted a post on what I believe to be the hardest lessons for us to learn, based on which house Saturn falls in.

୨୧ First House ୨୧

Self discovery. Growing up, you could’ve been limited when it came to self expression. Either by a parent or by your own fear of rejection. Taking charge, leading, or risky decisions could also be something you avoid.

୨୧ Second House ୨୧

Low or distorted self image. You may have struggled with feeling secure or stable in your body, possibly to the extent of developing eating dis*rders. Income, and possessions could also be something you’re worried about. The fear of not having enough or losing what you do have could be a familiar feeling.

୨୧ Third House ୨୧

Communication with others, with emphasis on relatives. You could feel like the black sheep, or your family doesn’t really care for your input. Minor disagreements, misunderstandings, and differences could be common here. Generally, you may be antisocial and introverted, also finding it harder than others to fix bad habits.

Family tension, especially with your father. Your father can put a lot of pressure on you, or you feel that your parents want you to jump through hoops to accomplish things. Being alone. Natives can feel afraid to be alone with their own thoughts. They may have nightmares or sleep paralysis, and if they have trauma, they could relive that in their dreams. They also could be very secretive about their suffering, not wanting anyone to get too close out of the fear of being portrayed, which they could’ve had happen in the past. COMPOSITE ARIES OVER THE 12TH HOUSE

The connection ends, because you are both too selfish and rebellious with your decisions, lack of unity and teamwork. The connection ends in an impulsive, impatient, passionate, spontaneous manner. The connection ended due to possessiveness, being too territorial with each other. It ended due to both not wanting to “give in”, both being too stubborn or due to one entering a partnership. Or because you were not affectionate enough with each other or you never revealed your true feelings to the person or because you were holding back and not expressing what you feel for the person, but you were only knowing that yourself.
