Dorcas was a light sleeper, call it habit or self preservation or an uncanny sense of hearing, she was up at the smallest of sounds. Of course, this hadn’t been small by any means, she’d felt wrong and jolted straight up from bed, except it wasn’t her bed. The whole room seemed to have aged 20 years, new collections of dust and wear every place she looked. In moments she was on her feet, heart pounding, something was wrong. By the time she made it down to the common room she knew she was right, there were too many people
. It wasn’t possible the common room had been breached, but there were dozens of people she didn’t recognize, not even from other houses. As she made her way into the crowd she listened to whispered conversations, trying to gather what information she could without having to stop.
The great hall was an even bigger nightmare, crowded beyond recognition but she managed to spot some familiar faces near the door. “What’s going on?” She needed answers, she needed to quell her quickening pulse and she hated the fact that she didn’t know what was happening. At least no one seemed to be in danger.
"Mm, apparently the students from 2023 and students from 1977 decided to make a visit.” She sighed, taking a delicate sip of her pumpkin juice before turning to face the girl with a hand out. “I’m Parvati and even though you’re probably going to think it, trust me I was in your shoes like five minutes ago, I’m not crazy.”
