“Aha. I don’t think so. I mean, I’d hope not. That’d be sorta weird. And this was sent to my mom. So, you know, wow, worse.” Leo gave a laugh, trying to keep up with the joking, but it was evident enough that he was perhaps not a comedian. He shifted in place, offering a grimace, before shaking his head. “Oh, don’t be sorry. I had real great parents. So, I never really felt the need to, you know, start opening cans of worms or nothing. But, I guess curiosity got the better of me, huh?” He smiled, but he was only being half-truthful. In earnestness, he had never looked largely because he had no clues. “I don’t know. Moderately priced three-bedrooms to moderately priced…you know. That’s a pretty big business jump,” he laughed. “I figure I’ll have to go to the library at some point. Look up property sales and all that good stuff. But to be honest, I’d be content for them to be, like, I dunno, out-of-work wanderin’ circus people. Because then at least I’d know something.” He hummed softly. “Uh…well, sure. I’m from Boston. Grew up there. I’ve always known I was adopted. It was never a secret. I’m not touchy about it. But my birth parents, or whoever, they did a real good job about keeping themselves private.” He sighed softly. “I was cleaning out the old house, when I found the letter. Figure it arrived some time in the early 90s. That’s about all I know.” He clicked his tongue. “I did one of those DNA test thingies too, you know? And it’s the weirdest thing. Like, no close family links whatsoever. Not cousins or nothing. Makes me wonder if they’re, like, super off-the-grid or whatever.”
“Wow, that would be the creepiest thing ever." Roxanne nodded, giggling. "Ah, I know the feeling. One of the adventures of life is discovering who we are. It doesn't matter if it's about your personality or your past. You're going after the truth and I think that's good." Just like she did when she turned eighteen, more than two hundred years ago. And still, that jorney seemed like it would never end, not with the imortality running through her veins... Until a stake killed her. She shook her head to make those thoughts go away and she kept listening to Leo carefully, nodding when necessary as she walked. "I'll help you find your family. I know it might seem impossible or really difficult to succeed, but the answer is here. Which is good. Believe me, Whiteash is full of surprises." The brunette commented as she looked at the citizens passing by them. "Which also means, that something great awaits for you. I know it might seem like just a regular town, but once you're here, you can never remain the same." She said in a msyterial tone, but a grin appeared on her lips after her comment. "It’s a town like no other but there’s nothing to be afraid of." She quickly added before Leo could say anything. "It's just... You'll see.”
