If you know about Hetalia you would know about the slavic siblings which are Ukraine, Russia and Belarus. Now a lot of people obviously like one better than the other but honestly who is the better sibling?
“Who is the better sibling?”
Now a lot of people think it’s Russia or Belarus mostly because I mostly see people saying they are the better sibling but you see most of them forget about Ukraine and honestly Ukraine is probably the better sibling but why you may ask? Well first let’s look through all the characters and see why they might not be the best and in the end see which one is the best based off on how they act.
First let’s start with Russia, now obviously Russia has a lot of flaws which is shown on the show but before we get to the reasons why let’s first list them,
First let’s start with the first flaw is with his intimidation, obviously he is known for being scary and scares a lot of the characters in Hetalia and he uses his intimidation to get things his way, he also carries a metal pipe around which he uses it to threaten people.
Another flaw of Russia's is that he abused the Baltics, he used his pipe to threaten them,he was exploiting them for labor, and his own presence makes them tremble in fear which is very concerning.
Now obviously there’s reasons for these flaws, he had a very traumatic childhood, he was bullied a lot and isolated by other nations, he also wanted to have friends but didn’t know how,he had to deal with terrible winters which apparently he froze to death in his childhood and thawed out when spring arrived, now because of these things he grew up to be very violent and not know his own strengths and that he scares people
Now I don’t like Belarus and I didn’t want to write about her but she is still kinda an interesting character so I guess it’s very fun to analyze her
Let’s start with her flaws which are obvious. First her obsession, she is very obsessed with her brother Russia and wants him to marry her which is very creepy since they are siblings she has broken into his house and threatened anyone who even looks at him, she also seems to have a very short temper which is very violent and when she’s mad she threats the person who made her mad with her knife,she also refuses to make friends because she hates anyone who isn’t Russia, also just like Russia she intimidates anyone who talks to her.
Now obviously there’s reasons for why she’s like this, just like Russia she had a very violent childhood and her aggressive behavior is just a coping mechanism because she has trauma,to Belarus Russia represents safety and power she wants to feel safe because she hasn’t felt that since childhood, now obviously I have to also say that no her wanting to Marry her brother isn’t a metaphor she genuinely has a romantic crush on him and just because she had a sad childhood doesn’t excuse her for romantically liking her brother it’s a reason.
Ukraine is the oldest sibling, she took care of both Russia and Belarus, she has a kind warm heart and treats everyone with genuine kindness but what are her flaws?
Now I analyze Ukraine and honestly she doesn’t seem to have any problematic flaws like her other two siblings. The only flaws she has are: she’s very broke and can’t pay her bills, when she is slightly overwhelmed she cry’s a lot, she can easily be manipulated, she’s very clumsy and relies a lot on people.
Now obviously these things aren’t good but they aren’t problematic. In fact these seem like normal flaws to me personally and the only reason why she has these is because her country isn’t the best and she has the heart of a worried mother.
“So who’s the best?”
Now that we did a small analysis on each one of the siblings, who is the best sibling? Now based on their flaws it is very clear that Ukraine is the better sibling. Yes Ukraine, the same one who can't afford to pay a single bill is the best.
The reason is very clear, she isn’t problematic! She isn’t like her younger siblings who threat everyone they see and use force to get what they want, she’s just like a mother, a kind hearted mother. Unlike her siblings she seems to have more patience than them, her childhood was obviously bad and a bit violent but she didn’t turn out to be a monster in the end. So yes Ukraine is probably the most normal and the best sibling in the group.
