lord forgive me but I may have to make a nonessential purchase
you can go back to the past but nobody’s there
before sunrise (1995)
I've heard time stops at midnight, never really gotten around to actually see it stop, but I've heard it is glorious, you cannot see a thing, you move around with a giggle because you're so ecstatic seeing the frozen airplane in the sky, air suspended leaves, half eaten curries, frozen mushroom cloud not so far into the horizon. Pretty cool right? you get to touch things you wouldn't before, like a car wheel while driving, break a mirror, a glass, and what for? nothing. an unbecoming of sorts, such a glorious moment it must be. to be stuck in time.

“Home is where the trees look normal” is the sweetest, saddest, most nostalgic truth I’ve ever heard.

the 26th birthday poem by Jackson Holbert
Jovian Aurora - January 23rd, 1998.
"This Hubble Space Telescope close-up show the southern lights...on Jupiter. Like aurora on Earth, Jovian aurora is caused by charged particles funneled into the atmosphere above the planet's north and south poles by magnetic fields. But Jupiter's magnetic field is extremely large, and ionized material expelled from the volcanic moon Io is trapped in it, creating light shows 1,000 times more intense than Earth's auroral storms. Charged particles released by Io are also funneled along magnetic flux tubes, which form a direct "bridge" to the Jovian atmosphere. The result is auroral hot spots - magnetic footprints 600 or more miles across, which race over Jupiter's cloud tops. A hot spot is visible as a comet-like feature just outside the polar auroral rings. In this false-colour ultraviolet image, Jupiter's limb (edge) appears dull brown while the auroral display is shades of white and blue."
