INTRO BIOLOGY LESSON TO THOSE WHO THINK CARBS WILL MAKE YOU FAT
Carbohydrates are the human bodyâs most essential source of energy; energy that every single cell requires for optimal functioning, especially your nervous system and brain. When digested, carbs are metabolised by enzymes into glucose, a simple sugar. It is this sugar that is up-taken by every single one of the approximately 70 trillion cells that make up your entire being, to carry out cellular functions THAT KEEP YOU ALIVE. 70 TRILLION. That figure is unfathomably massive; already it is clear as fucking day how essential a diet high in carbohydrates is to optimal health and wellbeing, right down to the cellular level. Now, much of the glucose that enters your bloodstream after eating carbs is utilised by cells straight away, which provides that instant energy hit. However, some of it is not. These extra glucose molecules are then converted to one big molecule called glycogen, which is stored in your body, namely within your liver and muscles. Glycogen is stored within these tissues and sits there patiently, until your metabolism demands more energy. When your metabolic rate increases (from carrying out any form of work - physical or mental) these glycogen molecules are instantly broken up (hydrolysed) back into single glucose molecules to be quickly & easily up-taken by your 70 trillion cells. A sedentary person therefore, will use up far less glycogen stores than someone who is working their body and/or working their brain. SO WHY/WHEN DO WE GET FAT?! There is only a limited amount of storage capacity within your liver and muscles, so if your glycogen stores arenât converted back to glucose and worked off, they start to essentially overflow. No more glucose can be converted to glycogen so the glucose remains in your blood stream, causing your insulin levels to rise. Once insulin rises, all of this excess glucose/energy has nowhere else to go besides being stored as FAT. Excess glycogen = excess glucose = increased insulin = fat storage. SO WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?! Well firstly, DONâT CUT YOUR CARBS. Think of the 70 trillion cells depending on you to eat carbs so they can eat glucose and KEEP YOU ALIVE. Just maintain those glycogen stores. High glycogen levels are ideal; this is how we build stamina and endurance, and can sustain our energy levels for longer periods. But overflowing levels of glycogen WILL LEAD TO FAT STORAGE. Work. Get off your bum, work your brain, work your body, every single day. Freelee didnât get her body by being a couch potato. This will maintain your glycogen levels and boost your appetite, resulting in a delicious cycle of endless carbs and endless energy.Â

HOLY GUACAMOLE THATS LOUD!
They town is getting ready for the local air show and every few minutes an airplane flys overhead! It's extremely loud, but the kids I nanny for seem to love it. So we will continue to play outside in this heat because I love when they're happy.
How to Like Yourself
1. Cultivate self-acceptance. That means you accept yourself for who you are right now. It means you donât say things like âI would accept myself if ⌠or ⌠Iâll accept myself when.â
2. Stop going over all things youâve done wrong, the mistakes youâve made, and your (perceived) inadequacies.
3. Where thereâs something in your past that you feel bad about say: âThis is what I learned from that situation ⌠And that was THEN and this is NOW.â
4. Donât compare yourself to others. Instead notice the areas where youâve grown and changed. Deliberately praise and focus on those positive changes.
5. Donât fall into the trap of judging others â as that will often lead to being self-critical.
