This thing from 2014 is my legacy. It’s got an insane number of notes and it still gets reblogs and likes everyday. I see people tagging it as #aclassic and I’ve met people in real life showing it to me not knowing I did it.

I was looking at it and realised that today, after 10 years I’d have done it the other way round.

I haven’t been in the Tolkien fandom for literally all of these 10 years so I don’t know if it’s been done already but here’s my updated version.

☆ Can we first discuss how the Wraith are much more interesting villians then the Goa'uld? The wraith are not just some pure evil beyings, which works fine in my opinion is sg1 but it gets tiring after like the 5th season. And don't get me started about the Ori eh...

Just a little note, i find the Goa'uld aesthetic more pretty but it is not an "alien" nor interesting as the Wraith

☆ The wraith are such complex race. They were created by the antients (this wasn't in the show but in the books) as some kind of an messed up experiment. No wonder the wraith were fighting for their downfall. I WOULD be too. And then are forced to feed on humans because they have no other way of surviving. Making humans see them as monsters.

☆ More about the Atlantis Legacy books...the wraith are a huge part of the world building. They explain much in depth how wraith society works.

For example: the wraith worship their queens. Not just as their leader but almost in this primal way. That the Queens are their protectors, their source of life, the female wraith talk down to the male wraith such as "a pity you are not as cleaver as you are beautiful". It also seems that many "gender roles" are flipped here. Such as the male wraith perpousfuly making sure they look "presentable" to their queen. Even other males calling eachother pretty. Also it might have been implied that male x male relationships are common.

☆ Random notes: it is stated in the books that Todd (his real wraith name is Guide) was the prisoner of the Genii for 17 years. He has an daughter and an grandson which he had been separated from because of his time with the Genii.

In the book Todd literally said: "I would not kill Sheppard just to save my own life"

Which seems...you know. Not a thing one would say about just anyone. And the are other moments in the show and the books that make me think that the writters actually wanted to make them a thing. Or show that at least Todd DID have feelings for Sheppard. Altho there is one part SPECIFICALY that makes it seem that Sheppard have feelings for Todd as well. But maybe doesn't realise it might be romantic. But I'll make a post just about that for sure.
