their hands stayed behind their back in that moment, listening intently on his reply before the smile on their face lit up. as it was now, it wasnât really like anyone else was there, and they certainly hoped coco didnât figure out their reason on being there.
even if there was a tiny bit of fear nagging at them, they should still keep forward if they want to ever go on with their life.
even though coco sat down for them, plum chose to kneel down before the fortune teller. showing the now opened ring box before him, a ring crafted just for the other by them.  â i⊠wanted to ask if you would marry me⊠â
The fortune teller simply waited while taking in the small nuances in Plumâs behavior, they seemed a bundle of nerves, but at the same his smile could rival the sun, that is until the other kneeled down and all Coco could do in response initially was to stare in confusion.
Confusion quickly turns to shock upon seeing the box, and his expression goes through a few other shifts before settling on a small smile to conceal how pained he had been at the request.
He shouldâve seen that coming, right?
But even then his mind screams that he shouldnât, that Plum wouldnât be safe -- he was already selfish enough by keeping the other close, by allowing things escalate to that point, he shouldnât endanger them even more. He should say no. But his heart sinks painfully in his chest at the thought and before he knows it, the bishokuya sighs, moving from his seat to sit on the floor and clasp Plumâs hands in his bigger ones, box and all.
âAre you... Are you sure that this is what you really want?â He asks, eyes not leaving their joined hands.
