Poison, smoke, shade

Life’s Questions

Why, we ask

Why, am I here?

My past seems to be wearing a mask

Threatening my sanity with fear

My head throbs

Keep thinking those what ifs and whys

I sit, confused as I sob

My head buzzing, like a dumb fly’s

How long can I take this?

How long will I last?

These are thoughts I can’t dismiss

For life goes all too fast

Photos

The photos float through the air

Into the spilled tea

Blood and tears are my heir

The photos land and begin to soak

Drowning in the sea

Broken hearts floating, death is what we provoke

Blood, tea, and tears dripping from a leaky faucet,

Darkness fills vision, we cannot see

The blurred liquid, a barrier, we can’t cross it

Time passes as the blood and tears seep

Thoughts are chasing, but we can’t flee

So we leave them be, unable to sleep

And unable to see
