Just as teens are starting to explore romance and relationships, an estimated one in three say they've experienced some kind of abuse. Radio Rookies report on the impact of abuse on their lives and their families.

Here are some things that do NOT count as consent. Consent IS an enthusiastic, sober, on-going, willing yes.
Itâs not always physical
Abuse is not always physical, it can be emotional as well. Remember that we should work to create safe spaces for survivors and those who have been affected by sexual assault and domestic violence to share their stories.Â
Never be afraid to tell your truth. Do what you need to do to be okay, and to live a happy life.
I think the best way to respond to someone who was assaulted is to show unyielding support for them and ask them, âWhat can I do for you?ââ Jacqueline says. âAssure them that it is not their fault, no matter what they are feeling. Donât doubt, judge, detach or be removed from the survivor. Do show love, compassion, support and belief.
