“Sure, I guess. It’s late enough I can probably close the Gym for the night. What do you got in mind?” He asked checking his belt, accounting for everyone on his team and grabbing his jacket.

“You wish. More like I came to see how pathetic a former Champion can get. What’d’ya know! I found the perfect example right here!”

“Right, right. Look all ya want, Champion’s overrated anyhow. I think Daisy would get mad if I couldn’t go by and see her as much as I can right here in Viridian.” Did Green mean that, or was he just trying to save face? Who knew.

“Nah, haven’t seen anyone whose very existence annoys me. Well, that is until I saw you. Shame huh,” Of course she was teasing him. Kind of. Well she didn’t hate him in the very least

Enter obligatory scowl on his face. “Yo, Leaf. Beat anyone up today?” He teased as he ran his hands through his hair even though his hair was never groomed.

Green just nodded and peeked out of the corner of his eyes at Red. Yes, he was still mad at Red. Was any of it Red’s fault, of course not. Was being an asshat to his childhood rival going to do any good? Probably not, but it’d make him feel better. Green sighed and turned around.

“Hey, its alright. I just know Daisy always comments on how messy I keep things, so its probably pretty bad.” Green scratched the back of his head as Eevee came up behind him and rubbed against his legs heading over to sniff at Pika. “Did you just come down from the mountain? Why the sudden change into civilization?” Green asked genuinely curious.

At the strained apology Green unzipped his jacket and threw it around his friend’s shoulders. “You need rest. Come on, it’s a short walk to my place. Let’s go.” He said opening the doors to go.

The Champion was still frost-bitten and his clothes were torn up and poorly stitched together. He waited at the front of the gym with his arms crossed, and a thin blanket over his shoulders. Snow was still on the fabric, clinging to his face and ripped jeans.

“…I need a place to crash.” Red mumbled. “…And maybe a hot shower…”

Green gave a small smirk. “Sure. I got an extra room that Daisy stays in, you can sleep there for now. She doesn’t visit my place as much.” Because her place was so much nicer than the typical bachelor pad that Green generally lived in. “Fair warning though, I’m not gonna clean up any more than I already do just because you’re there.”

“Uh... I guess. I mean I don’t really hate myself, I guess I did after losing the Championship so quickly.” He scratched the back of his head awkwardly. “Freakin’ weird to just go around sayin’ you love yourself, ya know. Gah. Next question.”

“No. That was Team Rocket’s whole deal wasn’t it? Anything to become strong. No matter the costs, no matter the lives they destroyed. If you’re going to do something, you have to make sure that you’re not hurting anyone else in the process.”
