the warmth of the evening sun hits your skin, basking you under it’s light the moment you stepped outside after deciding to go on an evening walk by yourself. strolling down the street, you spot a decent sized flower shop you’ve never seen before.

‘ver’s flower shop’ was the text written and hanged above the entrance “hm looks like this flower shop is new around here” you thought to yourself. you wanted to just ignore the shop and continue your evening stroll, yet you were unable to take your eye off of the shop.

the longer you stare at it the more you feel drawn in, as if something was calling out for you to enter the shop. therefore moved by curiosity, guided by your heart, you decided to enter the said shop…

This take is definitely too hot for a lot of fans but I’m gonna say it anyway: Sherlock Holmes is a canonically queer character. What type of queer he is is up to interpretation, but he is canonically, explicitly Not Straight, and people who write him as an allosexual hetero man are the ones who are actually projecting their own headcanon onto him.

I’m 100% serious. Here are the canonical facts we have about his feelings on sex/romance:

- He says multiple times that he is not interested in women. When Watson comments on the attractiveness of a woman, Holmes responds that he “didn’t notice”.

- He is uninterested in marriage and remains a bachelor his entire life, and never expresses any regret or sadness over this.

- He states that he has “never loved” (in this context it is implied that he is specifically talking about romantic love.) He repeatedly expresses disdain for romance in general.

That’s IT. That is ALL the canonical information we have about his sexuality. We know that he is capable of love in some sense, and Watson even explicitly says that Holmes loves him. But we never see any evidence that he has romantic feelings for women.

Any interpretation of Holmes as a heterosexual man directly contradicts all of the evidence we have about his sexuality. It assumes that everything he or Watson have ever said about his feelings on romance is a lie. The only interpretations of him that actually fit with all the facts are if he’s aroace, gay, or some combination thereof.

Anyway I’m going to start referring to straight interpretations of Holmes as “straight headcanons” now. Holmes is canonically queer.

*slams table* I JUST REALIZED WHY DOTTORE MAY HAVE TREATED SCARADANGO AND PANTALOONS DIFFERENTLY!!!

Scara relied on Dottore to bring him to his full potential, and Dottore saw that as a weakness he could exploit. On the other hand, Scara didn't provide anything in return that caused Dottore to be dependent on him.

Yes, having a puppet made from Irminsul is dope as hell for experiment purposes, but I don't think Dottore would've been that much disadvantaged if Scara had suddenly disappeared. Upset, sure, but he would've just started looking for a new star test subject. I mean, he straight up just left Scara behind in Sumeru after Scara got his ass beat lmao. I feel like the same couldn't be said vice versa. Scara would've probably felt super lost if he had suddenly lost Dottore 200 years into their toxic tango.

Meanwhile, Pantalone has proven he can hold his own. According to himself, he became a Harbinger on his own merits, not just by relying on Dottore. There's also the fact he managed to convince Dottore to spare him when they first met. And most of all, he's managed to make his way into a position where Dottore relies on him for something: 💰🪙💲💸

And because of all this, Dottore not only has a higher level of respect for Pantalone, but he actually sees him as an equal.

There's also Dottore's opinion of Columbina. His reasons for initially wanting to be close to her were very similar to his reasons with Scara. If Columbina hadn't started avoiding him, I reckon their relationship would've ended up similar to Dottore and Scara's.

Dottore probably always saw her as weak, so he exploited her powers in his experiments. He described her and the Traveler teaming up to beat his ass in Nod-Krai as "weaklings huddled together for warmth." Most likely because he doesn't understand what either of them gain from being friends and helping each other (and also partly because he was cranky over the whole situation lmao).
