A sigh and a turn of the page of the book he's reading.

"Don't involve me in this."

Since she's here she might as well drop by and say hello. Even though she knew Ratio wasn't social at all. "Hi."

He glanced up from the monitor on his desk, arching an eyebrow.

"Did you decide to take me up on my offer to help you enroll in classes here?" Because of course that's his first thought.

For once, he doesn't have anything life-altering or stupidly dramatic to attend to. Time to catch up on his prep for next semester's classes.

There it was . Even just that small gesture was enough to tell the Stoneheart his seemingly pushy affections were all too welcome, even if others might not have thought so. Gaze softened, a soft dusting of red dancing across his cheeks as he leaned foreheads together.

" I know , and that's why I'm glad to be one of the few you allow so close to you . " Aventurine whispered, lips brushing his yet again. " I love you , Veritas . "

The word coming from someone else would have made him scoff or roll his eyes. He would have called it sentimental drivel, because that's what he'd always believed it to be until now.

Curse this man for getting past his defenses.

A sigh left his lips. "I love you too, you silly man."

If he was getting the go ahead to be more affectionate with his favourite person, then how could he complain? Another kiss, then another, free hand moving to interlock their fingers with a soft hum.

" So you don't care if they know you love me ~? If they know just how close you and I have become ~? "

His cheeks had the absolute slightest hint of color to them as he finally leaned closer for himself, meeting Aventurine's lips for another kiss.

"I do not waste my time on people I would be ashamed to be associated with."

Aventurine did know him too well. Then again, you didn't have to know Ratio long to know he didn't tolerate people he didn't like in his personal life.

"And what difference does that make?" His eyes finally fell on the other, and his expression softened for the briefest of moments. "Are you expecting some sort of switch to flip and suddenly I'll be mushy and romantic?"

He couldn't help but chuckle to himself, clearly amused. Arm squeezed ever so slightly around the Doctor, head tilting to press a kiss against his cheek.

" I'm not expecting you to be anything other than yourself . It's nice being like this , isn't it ? "

He remained stiff for a moment longer. Even when he relaxed, though, it wouldn't look like he did to someone who didn't know him.

"You say that as if there is a reason we can't be 'like this' more often. As if I care what the blathering idiots of the public think."

" To be fair , if you really didn't want to spend time with me , then you would have left already . Someone's just not being honest ~ "

As he spoke an arm came to rest around the Doctor's back, chin soon perching upon on shoulder as he let out a small hum.

" Come on , Veritas ... It's just the two of us . "

Really, such a stubborn thing, wasn't he? Simply chuckling to himself a hand reached out to grasp Ratio's wrist, gently tugging the other down beside him only to lean against the other.

" Come here . Take a break for a little , hm ? "

If he really didn't want it to happen, Ratio would've easily been able to stand his ground. As it was, yes, he ended up pulled down beside Aventurine, staring at him as he leaned into him.

"I would hardly call it a break if it's spent with you."

@veritasverify : Just stares at him. "Was there something you wanted?" Because of course he's being difficult.

" I don't know , you just looked like you could use a little cuddle session ~ "

There's his usual carefree smile, arms still open.

A sigh and a roll of his eyes. He's not taking the bait. Yet.

"Then you are mistaken. You are not as good at reading people as you seem to think."

"Aww, does th' doctor not like bein' admired~?" All the same his tail is wagging. Grinning as he comes up to lean across the table he'd been under mere moments before.

"At least y'know y'er gorgeous, then."

"I do not, in fact, enjoy being stared at for the sole purpose of satiating one's primal lust." He took a step away as soon as the man leaned across.

"And of course I know. But it has nothing to do with anything in my life so it's not relevant in the least."

"...I ain't got a camera."

And then silence for a moment. "Besides...it wouldn't d'ya any justice~."

A roll of his eyes.

"I'm quite aware of that fact." He also is not a modest man. "But at this point, a photograph would have more interest in continuing this silly charade more than I do."
