“Then this is the place for you,” she hummed, shooting her a grin.

“I can’t wait.”

“No,” he shook his head, chuckling. “I’m trying not to be as massive of a dick lately, you know.”

“Since when?”

siennarowle​:

Sienna waited expectantly as Verity apologized, her face not betraying any of her opinions on the apology. “Not so fast,” she noted, not ready to kick Verity out. “Six months. It’s been six months since you’ve spoken to me beyond cordial logistics or thanking me for sending you flowers on your birthday, and that’s the best that you’ve come up with? You weren’t bitchy to me, Verity. You were beyond cruel. My fiancé had woken up from a coma two hours earlier with no memory of who I was and you spent nearly an hour questioning whether or not I had his best interests at heart while spouting some bullshit about how you were the only person who cared about him. Which, honestly, knowing how fucking terrible and guilty you make him feel sometimes is really fucking ironic. And then, as if to top it off, you were kind enough to let me know that I did not even deserve an ounce of sympathy from you because gossip rags would be more than happy to invade my personal privacy to do it instead. My best friend. You didn’t upset me, you took a knife to me and fucking twisted it.”

She nodded when Sienna was finished. “I’m sorry I hurt you so badly, I shouldn’t have done it or taken what I had going on out on you.”

“Probably,” he chuckled, rolling his eyes. 

“So you going to go then?”

christopherflint​:

“Our mother would kill me.”

“I feel like you could get away with anything these days by playing the head injury card.”

Christopher sighed as he took another sip of his drink, glancing around the ballroom. “How long do you think we have to stay?”

Verity rolled her eyes, shaking her head. “If you want to go that bad just go, Chris. I’ll say you got a migraine.”

siennarowle​:

“Of course he did,” she murmured, looking towards Verity expectantly. “Well?”

She gave a soft breathy laugh at Sienna’s prompting, nodding a little. “You want me out, I’ll be quick,” she said, pulling her bag onto her shoulder and crossing her arms. “I’m sorry for the way I spoke to you when Chris was hurt, and for the bitchy things I said. You were as upset as I was and I had no right to take that out on you. I’m sorry I upset you and probably didn’t help things improve between the two of you.” She paused and nodded. “That’s it, you can kick me back out now.”

“So I think it’s pretty valid.”

“But embarrassing.”

“I’m not going to bring up the insane things that have happened,” she gave her a look, “but just because they didn’t happen to you doesn’t mean they don’t effect you.”

“Clearly,” she agreed.

siennarowle​:

“I’m sure,” Sienna hummed politely, unsure of what else to say as she crossed her arms. 

“But he said you were here so I wanted to come to talk to you.”

siennarowle​:

Sienna considered turning her down, but knew that it wasn’t exactly an option and eventually stepped aside to allow her into the flat. “Christopher isn’t here, if you’re looking for him.”

“I know, we just had a family lunch,” she nodded. “Which put him in a great mood going back to work so I so don’t envy anyone having to work with him,” she said conversationally.

“I do really love hot chocolate.”

“In relation to you.”

“I guess so.”

“I don’t really know what it is you want me to say to that.”

“Sure, come in?” she suggested.

“Well, Sirius is running late so I figured I might as well go ahead and have a round of drinks waiting for when he arrived,” he shrugged.

“Kind of you.”

“Well, a lot’s happened.”

“Not to me.”

“I still happen to think you’re very fun,” she teased. “Although you were never normal, and I mean that as a compliment.”

“Emotionally normal then. I used to be more emotionally normal.”
