i think there’s a part of buck—a part that exists very, very deep in his subconscious—that has feared being accused of being in love with eddie from the moment he realized he liked men. like, if we circle back to 7x05, eddie is the only person buck is scared of coming out to. he does it fine with everyone else, on accident, brushing off the importance of it. but with eddie we had a whole episode avoiding it. his relationship with eddie is the only one that could be fundamentally impacted by that change. a part of buck was maybe scared, irrationally, that eddie might think it now means he is in love with him.

so when tommy brings it up in 8x11, this thing that has been eating away at buck for almost a year at this point, he goads tommy into saying it. it’s obvious tommy was referring to eddie but buck wanted him to voice it, he wanted someone, anyone to say it aloud. he wanted to hear those fears said to him for the first time, maybe because in a way it almost validates this crazy part of him that he repressed down. honestly, i think buck is relieved someone finally said it so he could start arguing his case.

the problem is, when he finally starts speaking the arguments he’d prepared—“eddie’s straight”, “this isn’t even really his house”, “it just isn’t like that”—he realizes that, actually, no one actually believes him. that’s what pisses him off the most, what sent him over the edge with tommy. then the, “everyone wants me to be hopelessly pining for my straight best friend,” when absolutely no one said that! those are his own fears that have manifested. and what’s even worse than all this is—it might even be true. but i think buck will avoid that until something snaps.

remember that scene in new girl when sam breaks up with jess and jess is like ????? what's going on ????? chasing sam down while he refuses to give her a straight answer because it's fucking obvious why they are breaking up and then he says that nick is the problem. that he's breaking up with her because he saw nick as the competition. because he saw that they were two idiots in love and he would get his heart broken again if he stayed with her.

and remember how we got a whole season of jess pining over nick and trying to get over him. and nick realizing his feelings on his own. and then them kissing and becoming a couple with lorde's greenlight as an unforgettable soundtrack for an unforgettable scene?

I think Temu face after the "I don't have to want to sleep with everyone i have feelings for and i don't have to have feelings for sleeping with someone" shows he took this as a "you were right i have feelings for Eddie"

His face literally said "Ok, see told you, i was right about that you just admited you have feelings for him"

and he left because he got the answer to his question.

I think Buck keeps denying the all "i'm not in love with my best friend" because he's still new to the bisexual world, like he went the easy path with Temu because he was gay, out and flirting with Buck, and so when Temu broke up with him and said "you need to explore more" or something Temu was literally telling him " You realised with me that you were bi but now you can realise what you want, and it's eddie"

Because Buck always using the "He's straight", is a good excuse when you're new in the LGBTQA+ community (as a new woman in the bisexual world i would never go after straight women, bi or lesbian aready scare me(im shy) why would i go after straight women knowing i will get rejected?)

Also Temu making that face and the "(scoff) okay" about Eddie being straight, show that even Temu thinks Eddie isn't, a gaydar is precious, that's why he was seeing him as a competition.

Cause you don't see someone as a threat to your relationship if you think they're 100% straight, why ? like Chimney isn't a threat, Bobby isn't a threat, Hen isn't one, But eddie is ? why ? probably because Temu saw himself (before he came out) in the way Eddie is being towards women and stuff, and also with Buck lol

So why would they bring up the fact that Eddie was a competition ? if we were "crazy" know one else would see Eddie as a potential love interest, like they would be like "Wait Eddie no they're just best friends" but WE do not and we're not alone,Temu did & Maddie and apparently others too (Buck said it not me) .

Because why would you make the "love" interest for Buck admit that Eddie & Buck we're not acting like best friend to him as well, like a closeted almost married to a woman, now gay, friend with Eddie and dated Buck, literally saw the way Buck was acting or talking about Eddie and thought "Ok something is going one here"

Also Maddie clock is ass pleassse!

Anyway, in every tv-show/movie, if a romantic interest or ex-romantic interest tells Person A " it was never me, it was person B"

and Person A, gets mad because no i promise you nothing is going on.

then something is going on or will happen LOL

and also we all know how Buck is, you tell him something that bother him and BAM he's going to hyperfixing it for a long time !
