I want angst but if it doesn’t have a happy ending I no longer want it
ofdamnation:
“why not? you have every right to be.” jaehee continues to hype the femme up, giggling softly to her words. “alright, alright!” she teases, nodding along with the new plan though her cheeks grow pink with embarrassment. maybe she should speak up now before she ends up getting hurt, right? it shouldn’t be too hard. “i’m glad you’re taking my advice but,” should she even bother? would it be worth it to end up to only get rejected by the one person in this world she trusts? “let’s just take this one day at a time, alright? you go home and tell her we’re going on a date for a start. that’d be enough for now, right?” she can’t bring herself to pull apart the only relationship she wants, not over this.
“you’re not so good at taking compliments yourself, sweetie,” daisy says, sarcasm in her tongue as per usual. it her mind this plan is as good as any. it even excites her a little. “-- but?” the female questions, wondering what jaehee could possible have against such an offer. her mother’s fear was that she would be alone forever, with her bad temper and sharp mouth (a side which her friend hasn’t gotten to see, being one of the select few that she’s welcomed into her life with arms wide open. “right, but i gotta be like, ‘hey mom, i met this girl, we’re in love, leave me alone’. -- does that make you uncomfortable?”

“trust issues? you make it sound so simple.” he teased him as she tilted her head to the side, a smile tugging at the corner of her lips. “i’ll be sure waiting, but we’ll see how hard you try. maybe it’ll be convincing enough.”
“c’mon, you’re a special agent with trust issues. just makes you great at your job,” james explained nonchalantly, managing to sound as though he wasn’t getting away with something. flattery typically would get him everywhere. “you think i can’t be convincing?”

Andrew’s question filled the room and left Remi silent, a feat that was typically impossible. The truth was, she’d never considered, let alone imagined that working a desk job was comparable to traveling the world. It wasn’t that she didn’t think it could be fulfilling, but it was the farthest thing from being fun. But it was their differences that kept their dynamic interesting, for they always ha something to talk about, learn about or do. Sucking in a breath, Remi squeezed his hand gently and turned to face him. “I didn’t,” she said simply. “I’m sorry. I know your career is important to you and I’m proud of you, you know that.” The brunette woman welcomed his embraced and curled up under his arm, resting a hadn’t on his chest. She felt his heart beating through the thick material of his sweater and smiled at the feeling. It’s muted beats always lulled her to sleep at night, and it was something she missed whenever travelling.
Remi thought their conversation had come to a close, but his followed words brought a hopeful side to her lips. “Shut up, you’re coming? I’m in, I’m so in. I just never thought you would be too.” Moving from under him, Remi pulled Andrew into a tight hug, peppering excited kisses to the side of his face. “Cabo is going to be so jealous.”
for the most part, andrew was fine with remi coming and going. relationships were not his forte, never had been. she didn’t smother him and stayed away long enough for him to keep missing her. he had a feeling she felt the same way about him. as far as compatibility went, the pair were a perfect match (despite the obvious differences in lifestyle). it just worked. “i know you are,” he smiled a cocky grin that was so typical of andrew jordan. his fingers played with strands of her hair, enjoying the relaxed feeling of cuddling -- which he’d never enjoyed before remi came around with her nomad lifestyle and charm.
he would regret it forever if he didn’t go with her. one week couldn’t possibly harm his future unless he let it. “you had me at pina coladas,” he joked, fomo already present in his spirit. he used to be an adventurous young adult, but how quickly the tides had changed for him once he realized he would no longer be a big fish in a little pond. “i say, fuck cabo.” andrew’s hands rested at the small of her back as he pulled her closer. “you’re lucky i really wanna see how you live.”
‘ you did fucking what !? ’ she spits through gritted teeth , coming to stand in front of mercury as she gets up in jason’s face . ‘ are you fucking stupid ? she doesn’t need to do that shit , we can use her for something else alright ? ’
‘ watch yourself , nita . you’re not in charge of this shit , right ? what else could she possibly be useful for ? ’ he scoffs , speaking about the female like she’s not even in the room . ‘ what do you wanna do , mercury ? only chance to voice your opinion on it , so go ahead . ’ // closed starter for @vermillus!
mercury felt like an innocent little lamb around these people. serves her right for thinking she could do whatever she wanted without such thing as consequences -- now she was stuck dealing with them, feeling smaller than ever. she blinked as her gaze shifted from anita to jason, hearing her name fall from his lips. “”you wanna use me as bait? am i that worthless to you?” her tone was rigid as she complained about her position in this entire thing (what had she expected?). “i’d rather not.” she’d seen this coming from the male, but hardly from anita.

A bright laugh bubbled past Xyla’s lips, causing her head to fall against the couch cushions. “First of all, you were almost always seeing someone when I was single, and I’ve never felt more stupid than when I flirted with you at a house party back in college. I took that as my sign to never drink Moscato again and that we were better off as friends.” This was a secret she’d kept to herself for the greater part of the last decade, but given the events of her evening, the wine cousins through her veins and the opportunity, she couldn’t resist.
The crystal wine glass clicked quietly against her perfectly manicured fingers as Xyla relaxed against his the plush cushions of his couch. She could see the gears in Astro’s head turning while they sat in silence, and she wondered what could’ve been troubling him. Maybe he was upset he’d missed so much of the game. She didn’t know. But following his words, Xyla sat up once again in her seat, dark curious eyes focused on her best friend. “No no, steal the spotlight all you want. Trust me, I’d much rather talk about this than my nonsense again,” she reassured, lifting her glass to her lips in preparation for the tea about to be spilled.
“I thought things were going good with you two. She keeps raving about you at the office and I might be wrong, but you seemed happy the last time we went out. What happened?” Xy wondered. “To be fair, your apartment is closer to the subway so I get it.”
astro took a small sip of his wine as xyla went on about the one time she’d tried to flirt with him. an occurrence which he’d so clearly miss. a nervousness settled at the pit of his stomach; regret. why did he regret something he didn’t know he’d done? and since when did that matter when they were clearly such good friends and nothing else? “shit. i didn’t catch that,” he grimaced.
relieved that he could talk about his superficial sorrows to someone, he moved to sit sideways so he was at least facing her for this conversation. “i wouldn’t call it NONSENSE. dude really stepped on it.” he reassured. his brows drew together as he opened his mouth to speak. “things are good, they’re great, but they’re never more than that? it’s weird. i think i want stability and then i guess i don’t.” astro didn’t want to use the word PASSION to refer to what lacked in his relationship. he didn’t feel fulfilled, or complete, or none of the things everyone says you’re supposed to feel when in love. “my apartment isn’t half bad, admit it,” he chuckled lightly, as though he hadn’t just admitted another one of his relationships was going to fail. “maybe i’m being a dick. you tell me.”

amethyst kept a close eye as he watched him as they spoke, ensuring he wasn’t going to miss anything.“living in the moment, check. i got what you mean, so no phone at the table is what you’re pretty much telling me right?” he tilted his head to the side, biting down on his lesser lip. he found it rather interesting everything which he was being told. “i mean yeah i do, i do love my phone and especially taking photos. i love to document it all.” he chuckled as he started to eat into his own food. “oh yeah, who could ever say no to those beautiful blue eyes.” he winked playfully teasing the other lightly, “yeah? i’m not too much for you.”
wade nodded. he just loved the feeling of his wisdom being acknowledged. “no phone at the table and no phone in bed,” he responded and, though he was guilty of the latter, a mere case of ‘do as i say, not as i do’. amethyst’s interest had been easy enough to captivate and it made him feel like he would be great at his job someday. a radiant smile covers his lips. “you need to document or you need to share? ‘cause those are two different things.” his tone was playful, as he wasn’t judging his boyfriend. more so trying to get him to stop taking pictures before they would have dinner. “not you, that’s for sure,” he said with a smirk. “you’re NOT too much for me.”
