Pretty much my first post but I can’t get my mind off this picture. I’m so sorry if characters are somehow off.
Can you even imagine Fyodor or Nikolai with slavic s/o? Not necessarily russian but generally slavic.
Let say s/o lived in Japan for a while now and their accent is pretty much nonexistent. How they met with their terrorist of a partner is not important rn. But for entire time of relationship their s/o has been calm, collected, maybe sometimes bit rude but it wasn’t really mean. Even tho Fyodor at the times didn’t like the aditude he low-key got used to it. Well now for the scenario to start:
It was calm day like any other. Fyodor was looking up some things for his next mission while S/o was just finishing up some dishes in the kitchen. Suddenly thump of falling plate was heard. This alone wouldn’t make Fyodor stop in his tracks, it was wave of curse words following. Specifically ones, he could understand even in his mother language.
He left his office and went to you. On the floor there was broken plate and you with rather annoyed face expression. This sight along with you cursing like sailor just minute alone made him chuckle. That’s when you noticed his presence.
,,What?” You asked with raised eyebrows, still mad. He just kept smirking ,,Well dear, if you must know, it’s just surprising to hear my s/o swearing their mouth out in whole another language, which I can clearly understand” he said in teasing voice. ,,Oh sush, it’s not like you didn’t know I wasn’t Japanese”
,,Of course I knew you weren’t, but I also didn’t know you were Slavic.” He looked at you while you started to clean up all mess you made. ,,Here let me help you out” he took scoop with remains of ceramics and threw them out. ,,So… which country country specifically are you from… may I ask?”
Long story short. He was pleasantly surprised by this news. Since that incident he noticed how you would actually start talking in your mother language in front of him. Even if it was just talking to your siblings or simply talking to yourself when you needed to think.
He could understand few words so if they got enough of his interest he would ask you to tell him what’s going on.
I’m not saying he would learn another language but I think there would be some phrases he would look up. Maybe even transition of few pet names he calls you. Maybe look up some traditions he noticed you’re serious about. Otherwise he wouldn’t make a big fuss about it
Now this one. This would probably happen while he was trying to annoy you for fun. You were just trying to peacefully read your book but Nikolai didn’t think so. It was already 20 minutes but you barely were able to read 2 chapters. Every time you stared reading Nikolai would ask you some silly question. Your nerves were running short. You were just finishing this chapter when he started again ,,Do you think pigeon could commit suicide by jumping off a building without spreading its wings?” That was it. That was your final straw. You harshly closed you book and looked him straight in the eye, flipping him off in your mother language (eg: ,,Tyvole můžeš sklapnout na 5 minut? Jen 5 minut”. (,,for f. Sake, can you shut it for 5 minutes? Just 5 minutes!”)).
Oh trust me you had definitely more than 5 minutes of peace. Bro was too stunned to speak. He just sat here for at least 10 minutes trying to figure out how did he just understand what you were saying yet had no idea what exactly you just said. Brother was offended yet he also felt over the moon. Once he got out of trance, he immediately started bugging you. If you thought he was annoying or distracting earlier, be prepared. He just starts clinging to you screaming things like ,,I can’t believe you would hide something like that from me” ,,OMG we can shit talk other people together” ,,I’m dating another Slavic! Wait, can you cook (food from your country)” and so on and on.
This day probably opened another phase of your relationship and neither of you really complained. Not that things between you two would change that much. But he definitely felt more like home since he felt bit familiarity between you and country he comes from.
At the end of the day, it’s safe to say that both of them were pleasantly surprised by the news about their s/o.
