So my dog tore her CCL somehow 🙈 idk, she was limping for a while but I couldn't feel anything wrong with her knee, nsaids did nothing. yesterday we went to an ortho and both the drawer test and the tibial compression test were SO obvious when he did them 🤦‍♀️

Well anyway, now we need to do something about that and we opted for the extracapsular lateral suture rather than TPLO because she's an older (almost 12 yo) lazy-ass shih tzu so I feel like it should be enough and with a faster recovery period? Am I correct?

Hi! Thank you! I'm so sorry for the late reply, I haven't been here a while 😬 unfortunately I'm not sure about online courses fot vet techs. I know that you can subscribe for a sort of newsletter with NAVLE questions, there are a few yt channels with recorded surgeries (vet dojo being my all time favorite) and there was a website for learning anatomy, but I used it, Jesus, over 10 years ago so I'm not sure if it's even active anymore 😅 but maybe someone here has any tips for you?

I have a 1.5 yo Bernese mtn dog patient with 8% hematocrit and literally no one in a 300 km radius has any packed RBC or even whole blood available, I don't have any donors lined up, or blood bags or blood group tests if I were to find anyone for a donation...

How do we survive this
