There’s still some critical role live show tickets for Berlin and London and I’m so tempted to buy them, I already got the Edinburgh ones
Made the mistake of bringing up that needing glasses is a disability on tiktok and people got real mad.
“You can fix it with glasses” yeah, cuz they’re a disability aid? But like, I still have to pay 160 bucks to use my own fucking eyes?
Like, by definition, if your eyes do not work without aid, you have a disability to see.
Having a disability doesn’t automatically put you in what people consider the “disabled” category, but that doesn’t change the fact that it is in fact, a disability.
Thank you to the person who brought this post back into my notifs because I just recently got a new pair of glasses!
And it only cost me $305!! What a steal!! A perfectly acceptable price to pay to be able to properly function in society! (Internal screaming)
Please always remember that glasses are a disability aid. Some of us literally cannot function without them.
here’s to all the weird little girls growing up into even weirder men

#my wife is on the SOR for being gay #no joke #she hit on a girl in a straight bar once #in 1997 #and while the girl was into it #the off duty cop sitting nearby was not #and so he arrested her for ‘soliciting homosexual activity’ #which in our state was still a felony #in 1997 (and would remain so until Lawrence v Texas in 2003) #and since ‘soliciting homosexual activity’ was a felony and a sex crime #she got put on The List #she is still on there to this day #because it costs MONEY to ask a judge to take you off #and she has tried four times#since 2003 #to get taken off the SOR #but every time the judge has said something like ‘no you pled guilty to the crime i can’t possibly take you off the sex offender registry’ #with no acknowledgement of what the actual crime was #(the crime of being a butch lesbian hitting on a cute girl who was into it) #(in 1997)
Reposting these tags with consent from the person that wrote them. The post about the Sex Offenders Registry is locked, but these tags are too important to go unnoticed.
Younger queer people need to realize that the SOR being used against queer people simply for being queer isn’t some ancient history thing. It still impacts queer people today. And it can quite easily be used that way again.

I could function in a society that had an actual nightlife that isn't synonymous with just clubbing. Where are the night markets what if I want to go to the library at midnight

The public alert will go off on Sunday 23rd April at 3PM (15:00) BST.
The decision to issue the alert was made against the advice of NGOs who warned this could put vulnerable people in danger. Please spread the message.
The Willow Project would emit more climate pollution annually than more than 99.7% of all the single point sources in the country. It would be harmful for the natives living there, animals, and the rest of the environment. The video below explains more about it
Below is a letter written by people who live in the area where the project would take place, they talk about the pros and cons of it
It seems that despite its nod to traditional ecological knowledge, BLM does not consider relevant the extensive knowledge and expertise we h

tattoo this on my flesh
I literally had a friend say this the other day while having dinner with him and his husband.
“Listen.” He said. “I served in the military. 10 years in the army, and had to keep my mouth shut and pretend. I had to pretend to everyone, until I just got sick of it and decided fuck you all. I haven’t been nice in years. Everyone saying I should shut up can kiss my ass.”
If people wanted nice gay people they should have been nicer to them.
IF PEOPLE WANTED NICE GAY PEOPLE THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN NICER TO THEM
Image description quoted Tweet from @jbarro “I think this is unfair. It is not weird to oppose gay marriage and also be horrified by the murder of gay people.”
Response Tweets from @meakoopa

reading a paper on quality of life among 45-to-70-year-olds with Down syndrome:
“Individuals expressed a desire to be allowed to go to bed when they wanted to.”
Imagine.
I lived in a room and board that failed the burrito test. (”If you’re not allowed to get up in the middle of the night to microwave a burrito, you live in an institution.”) No one stopped me from going to bed, but they did tell me I had to have my lights out by 10, and that I had to be out of the house by 10 the next morning. When I complained to my outpatient program that I needed more help than I was getting, they threatened me with board and care, where my cell phone would be taken away and I would lose contact with the outside world. My case manager sounded so damn smug, like he had caught me out, when he said, “if you’re really as helpless as you say, then you need to be in a board and care.” Like my only options were struggling to do things I couldn’t do, or surrendering my life to an institution.
When I tried to talk about these things with other people, they always rationalized it away. (I told my dad once that my caseworker was reading my e-mails as I wrote them, demonstrating extreme disrespect for my privacy, and he said, “Well, she’s probably making sure you don’t use the internet to goof off.” I was 22 years old.)
People tend to mock the idea that telling an adult when to go to bed, when to eat, etc., is a human rights violation, even though they would find it outrageous and absurd if anyone came into their lives to do the same thing to them.
And this is what people seem to think when they tell disabled activists we’re just not disabled enough to understand that some people really do need to be locked up and deprived of all autonomy.
Here’s the paper:

Hey everyone. There's another app on the Google playstore. Pretty sure it's not official and it's making money from in-app ads.
I think the AO3's latest post about apps is here:
An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
I don’t access Ao3 on my phone, but for those of you who do. wise words of warning.
Last time I looked, my best bet to use AO3 safely and free was to go straight to AO3.
I don’t understand the appeal of this. Has anyone ever thought “you know what would make AO3 better? Ads!”
Semi-regular reminder to my readers that AO3 does not have an app and every time you login through one of them, you are potentially comprising your account/password. AO3 has an effective design for mobile use and you can always add to home screen, if you really need an "app" icon.
Everything I have learned about this Harry Potter game is against my will but I already hate this particular argument:
"*insert antisemetic trope here* from the game has nothing to do with Rowling, she didn't write the game!"
Ok, but she laid the tracks, built the stations and planned the routes so why are people acting like this has nothing to do with her? She played on antisemetic tropes for years and derivatives of her world continue to do so not because they may have any particular urge to do that, but because doing so is easy within the framework of the world that SHE built.
Jewish people have been saying for years the ways these tropes manifest over and over, not just with Harry Potter, but a lot of fantasy mythology stand-ins. They weren't blowing the shofar for no reason, not just trying to play oppression Olympics or trying to ruin your fun. They were just trying to show you what was there. Just because it is more obvious to some people now doesn't mean it wasn't obvious before.
