... When I see people who keep those small dog breeds as mere accessories and also treat them as such... How can you bring your dog along when going clubbing? It's loud, the air is thick with cigarette smoke and the animal is clearly uncomfortable as hell. Some people really shouldn't be allowed to have pets.

Yesterday Tomorrow Was Today

When I was fifteen, I listened to black, death, and I don't know what metal. I wore black clothes, exclusively. I wore Alchemy stuff (dragons, reapers, skeletons, and so on). And I started to let my hair grow long. One day I had a conversation with a then 25-Year-Old. She was amused of my attire, my attitude, of everything I was back then, actually. She told me, it were just a stage in life, it would come to an end eventually. I laughed at her, saying that I would still be exactly the same, come my 25th birthday. That was almost eleven years ago. The black clothes are mostly gone. The dragons flew away and reapers crumbled to dust. Only little is left of these trinkets of the past. And just yesterday I got my hair cut short again for the first time in these ten years. But, I'm still a fucked up metalhead. I'm, in a way, still the same. Sure, everything that's happened in my life over these ten years influenced me. I changed my views, lost some of them altogether and gained new ones. And if I had the chance to talk to that woman about going through phases or whatever, I'd tell her: Girl, it ain't about what you wear. It ain't about what your haircut's like. And it ain't about the music you listen or don't listen to. It's all about staying true to yourself and doing what you think is right.

Why we have to live longer

Just now I read a really good explanation, why humans live longer than, for example, cats or dogs. Humans live to learn kindness, to learn to care, to learn to love. Animals already know everything about it, so they don't have to stay that long.

Any Advice On Going Veg?

To all you lovely vegan people out there: How do you go about your diet, when you're on a tight schedule, and have little or no time for preparing meals? Any advice on that and going veg in general is greatly appreciated!

Death smiles at all of us....

An hour ago a stray cat showed up at our house. It was in a horrifying condition. Half of its lower jaw was missing and it was clear that it hadn't eaten or drunk in days. We went to the vet right away and she told us, that the cat had been suffering from osteosarcoma for a long time. Thereby, germs had decayed the better part of the lower jaw. This, and the old age (estimated 15 years) left no other option but to put the poor animal out of its misery. This way, he at least had a quick, soothing end with people around him, who cared. We named him "Streicher" post mortem. "Streicher" is the alias of Aragorn in the German version of Lord of the Rings. Also, we think that this one might have been the father of our cat, Kira. The age fits, and his fur looked astonishingly the same as hers. But when he father was seen last many years ago, he was huge and a tough, fierce fighter. So, if it really was him, the disease had reduced him to merely a shadow of himself. Folks, if you ever find an animal crawling to your doorstep, which is obviously terribly sick or injured, please, please take action! Don't look away, don't ignore it!

Return of the Reaper!

Received Grave Digger's new album "Return of the Reaper" today! Hell, in my opinion it's their Masterpiece! Or, at least, it's the best since "The Grave Digger" (2001). Heavy Metal rules!

Finally Another Update

Long Time, no see.  I've been busy lately, working and studying at CUAS.

Last weekend two colleagues and I worked at the BeSt fair, representing our university.  On Sunday we had a contest with the guys from C2: The "First Carinthian / Styrian Merch Competition". The goal of which was to build the highest possible structure using nothing but merch material from any of the exhibitors.

Though we had the "perfect" solution, we didn't manage to win,as we let ourselves become too selfassured, while the guys from C2 "borrowed" our concept and built a tower, which was about two - three layers higher than ours.  But, it was all in good fun and it somewhat resembled our individual fields of studies quite well:  The engineers being the ones to have the best technical solution (at that given moment), but the sales managers being the ones with the uncondintional will to win.

Anyhow, lookinig forward to working again at the next BeSt sometime in spring '14!

Home At Last

Well, actually, I've been back in Austria since the 16th, but there was so much to do, I just didn't have the time to come up with a concluding post, regarding my time in Belgrade.

As already mentioned some time ago, the last few days at work were particularly straining.  I had to come up with a completely different solution than the one I had been developing for almost six weeks.  New data had to be entered, and most important, I also had to brief one of the colleagues on how to work with the file.

In the end it was too much to do and I didn't finish before I left Belgrade, so I had to work another 1-2 days at home to finally be able and draw a line under the adventure "Belgrade".

The trip home was eventless.  The project manager drove us out of Belgrade where we then switched places and I drove the remaining six hours back to Carinthia.  Basically, it was a straight forward drive; no turn left, no turn right, only two stops at the borders Serbia/Croatia and Croatia/Slovenia.

As soon as I finished the work for Belgrade, I started working for JS at CUAS.  The work is basically similar, and in the few hours I've invested so far, I have again learned a lot:

I made an AutoCAD-Template for use in the first semester's courses, where I could further enhance my knowledge about dynamic blocks.

I also played around with Autodesk's 360 cloud service.

Also I had some work to do in Word and Excel, thereby gaining further knowledge about these programs.

  So, since this blog has basically fulfilled its purpose, I'm not quite sure, what I'll come up with in the future.  I guess, I'll just post whatever seems worth posting to me:  AutoCAD- and Bass/Music-Stuff, I think.
