Bee and PuppyCat: The Series - THE KICKSTARTER!
We are helping the fine folks at Frederator with a campaign to crowdfund the money for a Bee and PuppyCat series rather than going through traditional network funding models, you can help make the show happen and get some cool exclusive rewards!
Support one of my fellow Cartoon Hangover shows! It is really beautiful and original and it doesn’t quite follow the format that tv usually goes for and I think that’s what makes it sparkle (other than the sparkles).
HEYY!!!! everybody! Bee and PuppyCat kickstarter!! you love Bee and PuppyCat! I love Bee and PuppyCat! We love Natasha and we want this show.
this is one of the best cartoons i’ve ever seen ever and i have been hoping ever since it was released that it would become a full series TAKE MY BLOOD MONEY
Neverland Co. (My fav!)
----
I'll just try to explain my super soft spot for Neverland Co games. They sort of defy all logic for me because of the fact their games ooze creativeness. Each game they make is different from the last. It's not all sidebattles, it's not all the same shit over and over.
Lufia was pretty poor as far as rpg games go. It had spirit but the gameplay was archaic. I liked it for the same reasons why I liked Lufia II. Fortunately Lufia II was far more superior and improved on its predecessor. Some of its defining elements were the really fun / challenging dungeons. The amazing (yet DIFFERENT) soundtrack. Finally, the fact that they took something so generic and made it feel so epic. If I read the synopsis in modern times for Lufia II I would automatically think the game was trash, but it was so much more. Another reason why I loved Lufia series so much was it was made by a relatively obscure development team, Neverland Co.
The Dev team was not as big as Square Enix (Squaresoft back in the days). It's just some small team made up of nobodies creating really really interesting games. When I read through the Energy Breaker translation notes, they explained how bad the code was for the game like it was rushed. The studio still managed to complete release a memorable game for me. Did I mention about how forget the staff members are? Can you even tell me who the composers are for Neverland Co?
No? Check these out then.
There are several others that are really good.
Some of the titles they made are Lufia and Lufia II, Energy Breaker, Chaos Seed, and some others. Look them up, compare the games, they do something completely different which each take. This is how game design should be, they incorporate lots of amazing ideas. They have unique art styles in their games, none of the games look a like. Sure there are better looking games out there but who cares. This is the reason why they are my fav dev company and I wish more people knew / supported them. Maybe it's the "underdog" effect talking hehe.
Energy Breaker is probably the only JRPG where you explore an isometric world. Chaos Seed remains untranslated but from what I played / was able to understand it has a lot of interesting ideas. It's my top SNES game I'm waiting to be translated. Here you can check out this video for Chaos Seed, tip of the iceberg:
Check out the stuff at 5:49. Their games are drastically different, something Square Enix fraking forgot how to do. I don't understand why people still support Square Enix. Energy Breaker was a blast from the past, a truly fun experience to enjoy in modern times. It suffered from some of the same "bad" elements older RPG games had. Still, it was truly an interesting experience. There's more to RPG games than side battles. There's a lot ways to make 2D art. That's one reason why I respect like RPGs game Octopus City Blues. It's not the same generic garbage. I'll post any updates regarding the translation project for Chaos Seed when I can.
If you haven't played Lufia II or Energy Breaker, I guess you can try those games out while you wait :).

Video of the art being made
Ah, Octopus City Blues. Quite an interesting game. I happen to catch the lead artist streaming and taking requests on to what to draw.
I got what I wanted more or less. My friend also made a request which was an 80s rock star with killer hair. It almost looks like the rock star is playing his heart out for the affection of the blue diva. That large sherif looks hella jealous. You keep eating those pink sprinkled donuts and keep it movin' buster.
If you're interested in getting something done for you MarinaNT and the Octopus team are still taking requests. Marina will be live streaming a pixel art session today at 8 PM UTC - 4 PM EST.
All of the art done on stream will be posted on the Octopus City Blues Kickstarter page (under updates).
Their campaign to create a "Authentic Octopus City simulation for Windows, OS X, and Linux" has been a success. However, there's still time left (see Figure 1) and PLENTY of stretch goals so you might want to give out a helping and hand gets reap the rewards in the process.
It's like a two for one sale, hehe.

He was somewhat of an enigma. It's interesting to compare business practices (past / present) as Nintendo was such a mega house back then. Through it all (mostly), this man was the reigning president.
I compiled a youtube playlist if anyone was interested in learning more about him. These are not my videos I simply compiled the playlist. Credit to the uploaders / original content creatures.
It was a pleasure to watch.

Octopus City Blues’ Kickstarter!
Check out the project page and let us know what you think. We’ve been working really hard on this for the last couple of months and we are really proud of it. We wanted to do much more but we’ve pretty much burned through our savings to get to this...
this post seems to like to not link to the 100% view on my blog, so click here to see the image unsquashed!
clash on the Peaceful Prairie!! that donkin’ nerd Maurice Sharkman is up to his old tricks, challenging our heroes to a sparring match! his devoted Sharkmanfans are right behind him, making up for what they lack in physical fortitude and courage by cheering really loud.
a battle scene mockup from Chromatose! no UI yet, and still need to animate the background elements like the windmill, clouds, leaves, etc. maybe add some goofy birds flying by in the distance~

Saw this video early last year. Sad to hear it was canceled. It’s however back in development which is great to hear since it does look like an interesting game indeed :).
