Worth noting that he protested loudly against the WWE doing a show in Saudi Arabia after the assassination of Jamal Khashoggi, and the company retaliated by making sure he hasn’t been on TV or PPV since. Not fired, of course, so they can keep selling merchandise with his face on it (and keep him from joining the competition), just out of the public eye so he and his protests gets forgotten by the fans.

Picture that: an ubiquitous celeb and household name like John Cena basically got black bagged and vanished for speaking up for human rights. That’s the power of capitalism, kids

From the first episode I thought Eloise and Penelope were going to be a thing, then I was sure Eloise and Benedict were gay (no other conclusion could be drawn after the conversation on the swings) and finally the minute Henry and Benedict interacted I said they were going to be lovers

2020 Gay Year in Review

It's so nice that we're beginning to see variety and diversity in the lesbian/wlw entertainment offerings of the year.

On the diversity front, The Prom is about an interracial lesbian couple and The Half of it focused on a POC lesbian with a Latina love interest. Summerland had a POC lesbian with a white love interest. Same with Get Even and Never have I ever. The owl house had a latina bisexual lead. In Deaf U we got to see a deaf bi woman date a deaf lesbian and in New Mutants a native American lead with a white girlfriend.

Variety was also more obvious than ever. We got the usual oscar bait period dramas with Ammonite, Summerland and The World to come (3 of them!) but we also got a musical (The Prom), a Christmas movie (Happiest season), a superhero movie (New Mutants) and a teen dramedy (The half of It). Over on the TV side we had some variety left over from other years: crime dramedy killing Eve, animated Shera and the princesses of power and new episodes of Adventure Time on hbomax, superheroes on The boys and legends of tomorrow, a bi badass detective in Brooklyn 99 and teen puppy love in Atypical. 2020 added to that with the Harley Quinn animated series giving Harley and Ivy the awesome, hilarious romance storyline they deserve, The haunting of Bly Manor giving us a ghost story with lesbians (the Halloween story we deserve), The Wilds over on Amazon Prime giving us the fantasy, survivalist adventure we didn't know we needed and The Owl House giving us the animated bi witch show we always wanted. We had fantasy shows like Warrior Nun and Wynonna Earp, mystery solving teen shows like Nancy Drew and Get even and more realistic offerings like Hightown and Never Have I Ever. Plus whatever Motherland fort salem and Ratched are 🤣

We definitely experienced some loss along the way (goodbye One day at a time, Teenage Bounty Hunters and I am not okay with this) but overall 2020 was a very good year. The things we were given were far from perfect but, in a rare turn of events, they were about us, they were ours. And I really can't emphasize enough how important it is to go out of your way to watch these movies and shows and to watch them in a way that matters to those who make them. The future depends on it. There's still a lot more ground to cover and more options are desperately needed. Let's do our best to make sure 2021 will provide!

One thing That’s for sure in life is that shit’s flying. Somehow, all the time, shit is just flying around, and we’re standing in the middle of this storm, quite often in the line of shit fire. Stoicism is a shield used to deflect shit. Or rather, to lessen the shit’s impact on on us, as we still feel it when shit comes our way. And it can get awful tiring when a whole lot of shit keeps coming your way. And maybe, if we can figure out how, we might try to go to a place where the shit doesn’t come as fast and furious, so we can relax between shit deflections.* Or maybe, we are standing too close to someone who keeps deflecting all the shit that comes at them towards you. They don’t mean to, and they have to be told, or moved away from.

Keep on deflecting shit, but don’t stop looking for ways to keep it from coming at you to begin with.

*as a punster might say, defecation deflections

Happy st stevens day, usually celebrated with a family meal here in spain!

The quarantine, and moving 4 hours from Barcelona just afterwards, has made me value spending time with my wife’s family in a way I didn’t before.

In a world full of strangers, it is amazing to have people who were once strangers accept you into their circle, love you, take care of you. Even if it is in ways you don’t fully understand. The point is that having a family to spend time with, even if they’re not my personal family, has become something I missed and needed.

Posting a lot of personal stuff lately, as tumblr is now my only social media that I can be fully 100% as open as I want to be about what’s really going on in my life, so I’m preferring it these days.
