Got to go out to a bakery with my grandma a few days ago! Had a lovely time, they made great macaroons! And so I decided to challenge myself and draw chairs, my nemesis. And while it was an uphill battle with lighting, page space, and ink texture, I like how it turned out!

Another coffee shop sketch, this time drawing my first interior since I started this little pen on paper series! It took me a good while to figure out what to draw in there but I’m happy with the final piece!

When You Could Have Been My Star

Happy birthday the world's first spam email and to our dear #1 rated auto salesman! Didn't realize today was his assigned birthday until I checked the tumblr this morning, but funny enough, I already started working on a bigger Spamton painting this week. So I took a piece of the main sketch and turned it into this. It became something rather striking, and lonely. Something very... him. I'm proud of it! Though I really can't wait to share the full piece in a few weeks!

As a bonus, here are some notebook doodles from a couple weeks ago while I was trying and figure out my design for his Big Shot era look and for Ramb as well!

Puzzling Out The Picture

I got back into Yugioh in a big way a few months ago, and wanted to try my hand at how Yugi would fit in my style! And over the course of a few warm up doodles I realized they all kinda fit together as their own piece. Feels nice reconnecting with an old favorite show like this!

"Vicious games, vicious games With different names, different names"

An older piece of art from this summer, but still one of my favorites! Based around my OCs Nicky Ash and Mickey Millan. Two college friends who's public access marionette show made it big before Millan's sudden disappearance. This piece was heavily inspired by the band Yello and their music videos, and I'm super proud of how I captured the lighting in it! I'm hoping to draw more pieces with such bold color like this soon.

This past week I released my first single of the year, "Let Me Close Your Eyes" which I painted the cover for! I'm very proud of how both came out, and how well they fit together. I think I managed to fill them with a lot of care and detail without cluttering either composition!

I decided to base the cover for the single around two of my characters from a short film I've been working on the past year! They're Nicky Ash and Mickey Millan! The themes of romantic dysfunction and hypnotic synth pop just seemed very... them. I actually started the piece based on a different unrelated song but after getting the sketch down realized it would fit "Let Me Close Your Eyes" to a t! It was definitely a tricky one to flesh out though! I'll probably post a sketch to finished art piece in a few days for the full process. But the biggest stumbling point was how much depth I wanted to impart in the background, and how to render that! I think once I finished the curtains, and changed the heart from being cut out from the wall, to being a light source in itself was when the piece really clicked! And the lighting is 100% the part I am most proud of in this piece! Though the pose was also a fun puzzle to solve!

Happy 62nd anniversary to the most creative and imaginative TV show in history Doctor Who! In honor of this occasion I have chosen to make Steven Taylor, my beloved 60 year old space pilot, suffer immensely! Here's to another year of this show and it's great spirit of adventure!

Happy Halloween everyone! I'm so excited to have got this piece finished in time for Halloween. Featuring two of my favorite characters in @pendogcreative, Jayne Prell and her Slishy Slasher. Living in our current world as a trans femme person, Jayne's life, and the whole "An Invitation" storyline really struck a chord. Someone with such creativity and trying so hard to better herself, forced to detransition by the only community that will have her. It's heartbreaking and terrifyingly real. This piece is one of the most personal I've drawn. The horrible stilted life you live when your forced to preform as someone else. Cut off from everything you that makes you feel happy to live, lest you let the role slip. It's a lot of my own fears. And I hope Jayne can find herself again.

I haven't had time to explore the new update fully yet, but I checked the site to double check the spelling of Jayne's name and. God just the gif on her page alone made me feel such pain for her. I cannot wait to see what else the update has in store.

Infinities of Terror

Happy October everyone! Today we have an older piece of mine. The cover for my 2023 Halloween single Infinities of Terror one of the first times I drew my own album art, and even though I was still figuring out my more painterly style, it's still a release I'm proud of, both in music and in art!
