What do we think of this then??
Remember when Mar said we would have a pretty good idea of who the big bad is RELATED to? Well, turns out Dr.Rollins is RELATED to someone British (bc duh hs British) … and we all know whos British, and just ao happens to be our favorite A suspect… WREN KINGSTON. So Mar wasn’t lying, we DO know who the big bad is related to. DR ROLLINS. AND HIS NAME IS WREN
When did mar say that???
KENNETH
Where the hell did Kenneth disappear to and why did he forget to tell Alison Charlotte is your COUSIN not your brother/sister??? Even if Charlotte THOUGHT Jessica and Kenneth were her parents, Kenneth knows the truth right? Confused af.
Opening scene
So why did they show us the scene where all the girls run into Alison's classroom and she is writing Mrs rollings on the board? That hasn't been in this season so we know Hannah is fine and Alive so chill peeps 😘😘
A clue in the picture? I see the A behind Ezra (the twigs) but what else? Hmm.
Maybe the clue is in their expressions?
I still love this, because the A in the branches practically points to Ezra.
good memories, good times.
The clue is that there is no clue…no plot, no meaning to this whole show.
I know. I’m so sad that nothing matters, and I get nostalgic for the good old days when I believed.
I loved believing and reading theories now I read half a theory and think nope not gunna happen....
Mona + Alison = Malison
Awwww! Love this “extra” scene from when Ali was in jail.
Love this
You guys, I think we should all stop referring to Charlotte as Charles/Charlotte or calling her Charles. That is not her name. I know we do it so no one gets confused, but if someone gets confused about it, we should just explain it to them. I think we all know who Charlotte is by this point. We should stop calling her the name she was given before she transitioned. That’s an extremely disrespectful and hurtful thing to do to a trans person. I get that she’s a fictional character, but no one should do that in real life, so I don’t think we should with Charlotte, either.
She's not real babes. Chill chill x
Unpopular opinion: I don't think shadow play was as good as everyone made out 🙈 there are many other episodes I prefer over it.
Agreeeeee! I hated that episode. I found it so boring and cliche! You are the only person I’ve come across who didn’t like it too!
I hated it too... 🙋
Wren (Julian Morris) with makeup… he still looks beautiful… (what have i done??)
He needs some false lashes 😏
friendly reminder: if you’re still confused and still don’t get the “plot holes” that you’re finding that Marlene’s trying to explain, that’s nobody’s fault but your own. They left us every clue they could without spelling it out for us. If you missed them, that’s on you. Just because you didn’t understand or didn’t like the outcome… doesn’t give you a right to disrespect the writers and the hard work they put into this storyline. That’s just ignorant. Thank you.
Do you understand the walking after midnight clue? If so pls explain. Thanks
I wholeheartedly understand why Marlene is sticking up for herself on twitter, people are being rude. For me, I call for understanding and acknowledgment, and I hope people understand my frustration is an emotion, not a sign of attack.
I’m frustrated at the fact Marlene told us, “this was the end .. no more questions will be answered regarding seasons previous to season 7″, which left all that did not make sense confusing, hence the frustration from everyone. Not only this, but i’m unbelievably disappointed that we were given answers in interviews, (answers to deaths and mysteries that had their own built up culture around them(, the disappointment in the motive, and Sara being both RC and BW, but, those are different issues.
Regardless of the fact I personally did not enjoy how the episode was written and portrayed, I liked previous season finales better (this is just a personal opinion in comparing finale to finale), I still have respect for Marlene and all she has done, for everyone who has worked on the show. What I am now frustrated about is the fact that Marlene has not acknowledged the reason behind our frustration. It has absolutely nothing to do with Cece being A, her being transgender, her being female when we were lead to believe Charles was Male, the clues are most definitely there, it’s all the timeline issues, the confusing questions, the little things that haven’t been answered in order to piece together an understanding, which, brings me full circle. Marlene is now saying the story is not over, there’s reasoning’s as to why some things don’t make sense, which I am excited about, BUT I just wish Marlene would acknowledged that SHE TOLD US this was the end. That it was over, and that is why there was so much backlash. But now to hear it’s not? I feel remorseful for my frustration, HOWEVER, my frustration and anger for the finale was cast because of what Marlene had told us. I just wish Marlene would realise our backlash does not lie with Cece being A, it’s all the surrounding inconsistencies, and if she knows this, I hope for her to let us know that she acknowledges this, because right now I feel like she’s sticking up for the casting character of A when that is completely beside the entire point and the backlash.
I just wish she could understand she told us it was over, and then left us with 1000 inconsistencies, that created backlash, only now, to let us know there are reasons. All the backlash could have been avoided, had they let us know, “ok this is A, but there is more to be learnt”
I want to know why sasha said the way A gets there money is 'disturbing' and why walking after midnight was a clue. Also why A looked so manly in the doll house.
(Some) PLLFans... We need to have a little chat.
I’ve been somewhat silent since the finale on Tuesday, I have a reason for this and I’m gonna tell you exactly why. I have never in my life been so ashamed of being a part of a fandom that turned on their creator like the PLL fandom has to Marlene. I’m not saying ALL of you, but a considerable number of PLL fans have honestly made me sick to my stomach because of what you have done to Marlene, the writers, the cast, and crew. This episode was one of the greatest episodes PLL has ever done, I laughed, cried, wanted to throw my tv out the window, and I gained so many answers that I didnt know what to do with. The episode was fucking phenomenal, whether you got the answer right or wrong… It was one of the top 5 episodes they have ever done, acting wise, writing wise, directing wise… It was a home run. So, if you’re basing this episode by the reveal and who it was? You should be ashamed of yourself. And every single person giving this phenomenal episode a low rating on IMBD PURELY for that fact, excuse my French but FUCK YOU! This show is so much more than the mystery of who A was, it’s about girl power, it’s about friendship, it’s about love, it’s about not judging a book by the cover, it’s about solving problems together, it’s about LGBT+ issues, it’s about revolutionizing the way tv shows interact with fans. When this show came out 5 years ago I was a Junior in high school, I was a quiet person, I had a few close friends, I had just moved to a new place and didn’t know anyone. I was also in the closet as a lesbian, suffered from really bad anxiety and depression, and I even had a “friend” that mirrored closely what Alison was in the beginning. When the show came out there were no gay teen characters on ANY show, when I was younger I knew I was somehow different and just like any child learns- you keep quiet, don’t talk about it, and repress it. When I got into high school the feelings started coming back agains and I didn’t know exactly what it was… Until the pilot of this little show came on. I had seen previews here and there on ABC Family, it centered around 4 teenagers and their dead friend. I had no idea this show would change my life. When the pilot aired I was already enjoying it, the plot was interesting, the actors were so beautiful, and then… Maya appeared. Emily brought over her little gift basket that her mother made, right after giving her a lecture basically saying “No child of mine will be ‘different’ (aka not straight, no dyed hair, no revealing clothing, basically you’re going to be a nun when you grow up).” Maya was the new girl in town, she was beautiful, sweet rebelious, and… Bisexual. Emily had feelings for her, only she didn’t know yet. After the episode got towards the end, the two girls kissed… I started to get butterflies in my stomach, my heart starting beating faster, I knew this was exactly why I felt different. I started watching PLL with my mom after that, every time there was an Emaya scene I would curl up in a little ball, blushing and trying not to show any sort of emotion about it. Then, the coming out episode aired, And, I came out. Emily, Shay, Marlene, PLL, and everyone involved with the show basically saved my life by helping me start that conversation with my family. Now back to the real reason for this post: If you guessed someone other than Cece as A for the reveal, I’m sorry- but that is niether Marlene’s, the writers, the cast, the crew, that is NO one’s fault BUT YOUR OWN. If you trusted your guess on a theory that was wrong, that is YOUR fault, not Marlene’s, not the cast, not the crew. If you guessed incorrectly, that is your fault. YOUR. FAULT. You can’t blame anyone elsee but yourself. And don’t you dare say “Well how were we supposed to know Cece would be A?” I spent my entire time on tumblr proving Cece was A. I have HOURS of proof, videos, theories, everything on how Cece was A, so it was not nearly impossible and if you still say it’s impossible, you’re just creating excuses as to why you were wrong.
Later on this week I will begin debunking these so called “Plot Holes” that people are bitching about. The only complaints I have about that episode is Sara Harvey playing Black Widow and the other Red Coat. That wasn’t fair to anyone, and although I know why they did it, I just expected more out of the Black Widow story line than what was given.
By the way, anyone bitching about how it should’ve been Wren, Melissa or Aria… Do you realize how much back tracking and hours of making up a story that would take? Wren being Charles would’ve been the stupidest decision they could’ve made. And I will tell you EXACTLY why. Wren came into the show as Melissa’s fiancé and he was exactly that. A doe eyed, cookie cutter, plaid vest wearing, perfectly British accented, doctor boyfriend that had nothing to do with the craziness that went around Rosewood or the DiLaurentis family. He attended the funeral with Melissa because he was her fiancé. He colored a picture. He misspelled a word. He was never intended to be A. Just like how they made Aria look guilty, just how they made Melissa look guilty, and Jenna, and Shana, and Paige, and Toby, and virtually every single character on the show. CeCe was made for the specific role of being A, they never changed . The moment she entered the screen in 3x07 she was suspicious and knew too much about everyone. She had connections to everyone and everything, she killed someone, she was a liar, Alison was her favorite. Everything added up to CeCe. Now, whether the transgender story was added on in season 5 is up for discussion- but the fact that CeCe was always planned for A is not. I beg of you, watch the episode again. Prejudice and theories aside, and just enjoy the episode, because it really is one of the greatest episodes that they’ve done. Vanessa killed it, as did the rest of the cast. If you don’t agree, I totally understand. But don’t you dare tell me that you regret watching this show for the past 6 seasons because you were wrong about who A was.
Everyone is entitled to have their own opinions and have criticism towards the storyline. Getting mad at the fandom for not liking it means you don’t care about other people’s opinions but your own. If YOU enjoyed it just talk about how much you liked it rather than trashing everybody else for not having the same life experiences from this show as you have. 90% of the people don’t care who A was, it was the inconsistencies, nonsense plot and the story didn’t connect with everyone. And even if people are mad it’s not Wren or Aria, who gives a shit, that’s there opinion too. A public show is going to get public opinions but no one is putting anyone down in this fandom but YOU.
xlaurenw I guess you didn’t read the title of the post before you started trying to make ME sound like I’m calling out the entire freaking PLL fandom. At the top of the post, what does it say? It says (SOME) as in NOT EVERYONE. So please get off your high horse and stop acting like I was talking directly to you and every other person who didn’t like the finale. I’m talking about people who were going so far as to tweet threats to Marlene and the cast, writers, etc. And even at the bottom I reminded people “If you don’t agree, I totally understand.” So let me repeat myself again. I am ashamed to be a part of a fandom that turned on the Cast, Crew, and Creator so far as to physically harm, threaten, or tarnishes their reputation as an artist. The fact that Marlene has been practically hiding since the finale is just sickening from what fans have done because either 1. You didn’t get who you wanted to be A. 2. You hate the backstory. 3. You wanted more questions answered. You have every damn right in the world not to like the finale and tear it apart, but some (SOME!!!!!) fans go so far that they scare the creator shitless… And THAT’S why I wrote this post. Get it now? Can you go back to hating the finale now feeling a little better?
Yeah you did say some pll fans for the treatment towards Marlene but then went on to say anyone bitching about how it should’ve been wren, Melissa or Aria would be the stupidest decision and went on to trash people theories and clues they found…that has nothing to do with the threatening and bullying of Marlene. That’s not accepting people theories/opinions and calling them stupid for it because they were wrong and disagree with the reveal. That’s not just some of the fandom, so it looks bitchy and like your putting people down for no reason. Are you trying to say it’s the people who want wren, Melissa or Aria to be A are the ones threatening Marlene? Your rant just went in a few different directions and sounded really negative to theorists.
xlaurenw I think you may have taken the post the wrong way, now you’re making sense. And yes, the people who wanted Wren, Melissa, and/or Aria were the main ones that were doing the threatening, saying that she should kill herself and how Wren/Melissa/Aria was the original plan and how they were threatening to go to her house etc. To be fairly honest, it’s mostly come from Wren and Aria is A theorists, moreover the Wren theorists. One post from one wren theory that has a HUGE Facebook page went so far as to start using transgender slurs and disgusting threats and just being all around nasty. There’s a difference between being upset with the reveal and not liking the episode to full on threatening to kill Marlene and members of the cast/crew. That’s why I said (Some) PLL fans, because I know a LOT of people were disappointed, but from the darker sides of the fandom- it just brought out the absolute worst of the worst. And this is why I wrote the post.
I just wanted to say, I’m an Aria is a theorist and I accepted Cece as A the first time I watched the episode because I now her character would fit in to this role. I never said anything like you said about how over 80000 mad we’re supposed to be because the character we choose isn’t A and I dont want to kill marlene… . stop doing generalities on the pll fandom because it is as bad as people who you are hating on. this isn’t representative of Aria is A theorist…. idk maybe I’m following the right people and you don’t. And I’m sorry but we have the right to be mad at the writters and I think especially ABC because they teased us, they encourage us to play the clues game. And they just ripped it off. that’s why I claim it was bad. I scencerly hope it would be better in 6B. I would be very happy if somebody here tries to convince us that it FITS and it’s making sense without plot holes. SO if you think it is making 100% sense please share it to us rather than putting people down. It would be way more intelligent. And I would be the first to be thrilled by it. I’m glad you liked this episode , youre the only one I see on my feed who liked it. but I didn’t. and it isn’t because of WHO and the actress or because it didn’t match with what I thought. It was because I didn’t feel anything during the episode. nothing. not crying, not feeling bad for cece for charles or anything. I was mad because I used to be so entertained by others finales and this one was just erk…. they should let us more see Cece character evolution and feelings and maybe I would be affected even a little by her story and her explanations. that’s why I’m saying it is bad writting, we didn’t have much time to appreciate the many personnalities of Charlotte. THIS ISNT OUR FAULT this is bad character developpement.
(+ sorry for my bad english)
I have to agree completely with xlaurenw and itslikepll.
You were very rude in your opening post. Apparently you made the post to express your disgust about the people who are threatening Marlene and the other writers, something that is completly wrong, I agree. But then you went on to literally bash us Wren-theorists (and Aria/Melissa), belittling the clues we found, basically calling us stupid because we apparently in your opinion looked too much into clues. Well guess what? That’s exactly what Marlene told us to do. We couldn’t know Wren wasn’t A. He was the one person who logically (considering age, previous posts from writers saying they wouldn’t go with the transgender route, background, clues, etc) could’ve been A. So for you to belittle us in a rage of anger was completely out of line and disrespectful.
You have all the right to like the episode. But quite frankly, you’re the only person on here who I’ve seen a post from that says they loved it. Us not liking the episode has nothing to do with who A is. It has to do with the endless plotholes, inconsistencies, lies fed by the writers, and utter disappointment after 5 years of build up hope. And we have all the right to be upset about it. Honestly, I think you’re barely gonna find anyone on here who sent hate to Marlene. That’s the minority in this community.
And I’m sorry but I laughed so hard when you said you were gonna break down all the plotholes. Impossible. Good luck with that.
^ yes yes yes
Also calling other theorists stupid in a post complaining about how rude the fandom is being (for having justified opinions) is the biggest hypocrisy and contradiction I have ever seen, wow.
You do realise the reason 99.9% of fans are angry is because the finale was filled with plot holes? I actually haven’t seen a single person say they’re mad because they were wrong. Personally, I didn’t care who A was as much as I just wanted the story to make sense. But it didn’t. The timeline was messy, she didn’t even have a good motive and rc/bv was someone we’ve known half a fucking season. I started watching this show late last year and I’m angry at waiting a matter of months to be told two of the biggest mysteries were someone we’ve barely know 5 minutes and who doesn’t even know any of the girls. A was supposed to like vintage things, the volt in the dollhouse proved that, but then the whole live feed thing was a futuristic mess. I do not agree with sending hate to ANYONE, that’s not fair. But do you actually think the rating is so low because people were wrong? I bet most people didn’t know Mona was still alive, that got a good rating? It isn’t about US being wrong, it’s the fact Marlene is trying to say she’s known the story all along so she’s had years to make it work, yet she came up with something that has angered thousands because it makes no sense. “They were happy you were gone” was her notive. If she loved Alison so much, why would she hurt her? I wanted some big motive, like all 6 of the girls being involved in a murder that affected A so much that they wanted revenge. Not some weak motive that was told to her by a “drugged up” patient. And after season 5, the game was being played for fun? She blew up a house, nearly burnt Caleb alive, nearly froze Sparia to death, framed Alison and the liars for murder and kidnapped 5 teenagers for fun??? I’m sorry if this sounds rude because it isn’t intended to be but I just thought your post was quite rude, saying how disgusting you were with this fandom (i know you said some but when you say the fandom it includes us all, including yourself)
I can’t believe there are actual people who enjoyed the finale and even after seeing posts about plot holes see nothing wrong with it… Why would Cece leave clues to her old name? Why would she dress up as Charles after transitioning and burying Charles in a grave? Marion died in 2007 and somehow Cece isn’t 20 but 12 at that rooftop. The liars have nothing to with any of it. Black widow and Red Coat is freaking Sara Harvey. All of it together, it’s not logical, it doesn’t make any sense. I do not agree with fans who obviously have problems distinguishing between reality and TV, who send threats and hate. But there is always a group of people who are fanatics. Don’t threat fans who are disappointed at the lack of logic the same as violent fans who don’t understand boundaries.
^^^^ yes!
Finale was shit. End of.
A clue in the picture? I see the A behind Ezra (the twigs) but what else? Hmm.
Ezra is about the same height as Spencer?
Sooo… what’s the clue?
Exactly??? No clue.
PLL pilot & season finale ratings.
Game over, Marlene.
paigeeee93
Raise your hand if you’re 99.9999999% sure that Marlene decided to change it last minute.
Ok idk if this is evidence of the finale being reshot after the reddit spoilers but..
In the promos for the finale, when A turns around to reveal themselves, it’s not all blurry like the liars were watching it on the screen. It also is kind of a swooping motion, whereas Cece just turned around nonchalantly.
Idk if this is actually relevant or not, just a thought xx
Good point!
And Alison also said in the promo “Its you” but not in the episode..
i just gif both scenes and look
you can totaly see that this are two different scene, i mean it isn’t even the same camera prespective. Also the one from the promo isn’t all this shiny and blury like the one the girls see on the hologram. and the way the camera zooms and the colors.
I mean i know that there are often scenes in trailer/promos that didn’t get used in the episode/movie but still…. (i mean i actually was very sure that they didn’t refilmed it but idk i just saw this post and thought about it)
I actually don’t think it was refilmed but this is weird.
6x10 au → Wren Kingston is revealed as A, Cece Drake as Red Coat and Melissa Hastings as Black Widow.
These are amazing.
Take notes Marlene
Yessssssss
