WHAT IS YOUR EARLIEST HUMAN MEMORY?
A noise came from her stomach. Three days with out food. Mother used most of the money that they got from the capitol to fend what was her addiction to drinking alcohol every minute of every day. Never leaving enough money to buy suitable food to sustain life for very long.
Sooner or later, I will have to learn how to develop a skill that would allow her and her sister. Alright, and my mother as well…to survive.
Twelve wasn’t a very desirable district to live in. The coal mines of District 12, provided them with coal to put in their laced iron stoves and to use to help cook what ever meal they were eating that day.
The sky consisted of clouds and possibility for chance of rain. The streets would become muddy and wet. Children would try to play in the little pools of brown water that had pooled in the crevasses of the holes in the ground as there were no paved roads in Seam. Except for the stones layered to pave the street of victors village.
Katniss looked to her mother who was passed out drunk on the couch once more. Some healer of the town she turned out to be, “Mom, I am headed out”She said as she called out. She had to find food for them somehow before the three…four including prim’s kitten. Would die from the starvation.
The 15 year old teenager made her way through the streets. Her eyes were heavy as she hadn’t eaten much for the past two days. Water was scarce but they made due with what they could find. Having made it to the bakery she was wet, cold and tired. The noises weren’t going away and actually, they started to cause minor pain to her sides probably cause they wouldn’t have much left to feed off on her body after going through what little food they had eaten four days prior.
Her eyes looked up through the rain as she saw a teen her same age come out and had two loaves of steal bread in his hands. Her mouth watered and one could only hope he be kind enough to not feed it to the swine that was fat enough to butcher and to have a nice little meal with leftovers probably.
The look he gave her of pity and of strife…yet the compassion and care she saw in his eyes were enough to give her hope…Seeing him throw the bread to her, she scattered quickly towards the two medium size loaves and she broke off a piece to eat her self. Even though covered in mud, she could clean it off when she found a clean water supply… Hopeful eyes returned to the boy as he went back inside and shut the door. Grabbing the two loaves she made her way back to the house as she would have to maintain an intake of the bread so they wouldn’t put what was gracious to them to waste.

Katniss woke up from her dream as she was better now but still that memory of her and her family after her father was taken by the capitol, that they were in their darkest hour. And the thanks to her friend Peeta, she was able to provide at least a mere reprieve no mater how long the bread lasted it was enough to help them to at least till she learned how to shoot her bow and arrow. To arrise on their own and at least get back to a normal standing in Seam once again and for her to return to school and actually have friends.
