A Sacred Day of Celebration

Now as I very clearly stated on the resume that I submitted back in February, I cannot work today. It is a very sacred holiday to muggles such as myself called BlizzCon and I must listen to the lectures on which offerings we are being bestowed with in the upcoming year, witness the perilous tournaments being held, and adorn myself in the cosplay of my people. 

Remember when I explained Groundhog Day to you? It’s like that, but instead we’re seeing if we’re getting 6 more weeks of Sombra ARG countdown timers.

I love Magic, and I love to play Magic. I’m not as hardcore as I was in the early 90s, because I don’t have the same amount of time now that I did then, but it will always hold a place in my heart, even if the players in the Magic community have made it clear that I’m unwelcome among them.

The first black-owned comic book store on the East Coast is owned and managed by a black woman named Ariell Johnson!!!

(In an interview with Philly.com) "We will be a legit store, so expect to see the heavy hitters that we all know and love,“ she said. “But in addition to those usual suspects, we want to showcase diverse comics, creators, and characters. We think that comics are for everyone and anyone that loves comics-women, people of color, and the LGBTQ community.”

Hello hello hello! I have to say, I don’t even do a very good metamorph impression of Jonathan. But once I tossed on some glasses and sulked around everybody just assumed it was him.

Sorry about giving out a bit of info on ‘wittle’ Jonathan from the good old days. Emily gave me a call, and it was too good of an offer to turn down. We are old prank buddies after all.

NPC Spotlight

Name: Miniboss Class: Level 24 Witch Skills: Craft Item (Food), Handle Animal, Strangling Hair, Intimidate

As party leader and diplomat, Miniboss gains her powers through communing with her familiar and expresses them primarily through crafting potions and food and using Charm Monster, Mass on groups of rowdy patrons. She occasionally fails a perception roll and tries to use Handle Animal on a change machine, but these things happen.

A Look at Characters with Disabilities in Video Games

Recently there has been a lot of discussions about the need for diversity in video games. There has been a lot of attention given to the call for inclusion of more female characters, of more gay and lesbian characters, and more characters of racial minorities. Today I’m here to talk about another group that is often underrepresented or misrepresented in games: the disabled.

Invisibility Blues is a new video series currently on Kickstarter that aims to discuss racial representation in video games. The women working on this game believe gaming should be for everyone, and everyone should have the chance to see themselves represented in the games they play.
