   “Pretty girl?” She already felt the heat rise to her cheeks. A finger even reached up and scratched at one of the said things. The female composed herself and slowly slid her bag off a shoulder and handed it to him. “I’m heading to school for saturday practice. Do you know where Fukurodani is?”

          ❝Fukurodani ?? ❞ expression almost immediately morphed into surprise as the words were echoed back-- had they unknowing attend the same school ?? Not that it would be unheard of, Nakuka being a single student in a sea of a rather large student body,  ❝sure, I’m heading there now actually,❞

           Turning to the other, she could distinctly remember his face from FAR back, wondering if he ran from all the way back then till now to return her property. So when she looked down at her house keys nestled in the palm of his outstretched hand, she almost slapped herself for how careless she had been. 

           “Thank you,” she started, taking them back to safely pocket them. “I’m so sorry for the inconvenience, let me repay you for this.” Most people wouldn’t have gone as out of the way as he did just to return keys to a stranger, it was the least she could do for all his trouble.

             Her gratitude took them by surprise — the runner had been expecting a less thankful response to their gesture. It wasn’t as if they were raised to be as kind as they were either,                ❝Maa — There’s no need for that !! ❞ they were still a bit out of breath, bent over slightly with hands on their hips to wait as their heart rate slowed. Yet still, a cheerful grin graced sunny features as they looked up at the girl,   ❝I’m just doing what any other person would have done,❞

   “I’m sure, there’s no need to call for help.”

   She looked up to see his hand. Reaching out she grabbed his hand and pulled herself up. Once pulled away she began to dust her clothes off. She then stretched her body out and gave it a quick shake. “Yep everything seems fine.”

           ❝Thank god... That’s a relief —  I’m sure if my friends heard that my clumsy self bulldozed a pretty girl, I’d never hear the end of it !! ❞ they were rambling now, clearly grateful to see the female able to stand without much difficulties,          ❝Are you heading somewhere ?? I can at least walk you there & carry your bag for you...❞

Fingers were curled around the cane tightly as the vines of envy wrap around his stomach & tug on his nerves, making the pain spike as a reminder that he could no longer run.

          ❝I am !! I’m even part of the track team at my high school,❞ a smile radiated on almost child-like visage  — finding their chest swelling with pride. Someone recognized them for their accomplishments, not the achievements that their parents forced upon them !!              ❝Would you believe me if I told you I’m even faster ??        An amused grin danced across Nakuka’s face-- they didn’t realize they had an audience. Long legs squatted down to reach eye level with the small child, a faint tint of pink coloring their cheeks with pride that their efforts had been noted,            ❝That’s right !! Super speed & lots of training —  That’s how I run extra fast !! ❞

   “I’m fine.”

   Though in reality, she was quite sore from coming in contact with the pavement. So a hand reached down and began to rub her lower back. What was with her and running into people?

        Watching the poor girl struggle made them feel horrible. A concerned look creasing their brow as they leaned down, a hand extended to offer assistance,  ❝Are you sure you aren’t hurt ? I’m really sorry —  Should I call for help ?? Can you stand ?? ❞

        ❝Oh really ? ❞ a bow of their head signified their appreciation, slightly breathless as they took a moment to rest their aching legs. A hand reached up to tousle slightly sweaty blonde hair with a sheepish grin,             ❝Yeah  !! I’m actually doing training for an upcoming competition — What about you ??
