          ----- IT HAD ONLY BEEN a couple of months. a couple of months since -- since his passing. since the failed kidnapping attempt that led to her husband’s murder. 

the overwatch group was kind enough to allow her stay with them until the parties responsible were apprehended, as there was still the chance they would try to take her again. 

          after the knowledge that her husband didn’t make it, she hadn’t left her room much. she stayed inside, taking the food offered to her by blurry faces. mourning had wrapped itself tightly around the woman and REFUSED to let go. 

          after the second month had passed, her mourning transformed into anger. transformed into a thirst for justice. amélie had stormed out of the room, tired of her simple silence. 

          finding who she needed wasn’t difficult, as the agents of overwatch were too amazed seeing her out of her room to inquire about why she was searching for the cowboy. 

          thankfully, she was able to find him fairly easily. amélie hesitated for only  a moment before her resolve strengthened. 

          ❝   i NEED you to teach me how to shoot.   ❞

          the only feeling that she was attuned to. the ever slight twist in her chest at the satisfaction that another was shot down by her hand. she turned on her heel after making sure that the target was truly deceased. 

          that was when she almost ran into the other. her hand gripping tighter onto her weapon as she narrows her gaze at him. 

        ❝   why are you here  ?  ❞   a simple enough question, keeping her gaze focused on him despite the urge to glance around for other’s.

          ----- HER FINGER twitched, though the trigger was not pushed down. no, the moment wasn’t right. too many figures in the way, someone who could catch the bullet for the true target. 

          she cared NOT for the accidental deaths she may cause, more so for her pride as a sniper. she did not miss. a breath, and she was staring down her sights once more. 

          THERE. the perfect shot. exactly what she was looking for. there was no hesitation as her hand squeezed tight, feeling the power behind the weapon radiate through her hands. 

          however, just before the bullet hit her target, a shield appeared. her eyebrows furrowed as she looked at the source, eyes narrowing once. she was the reason for her missed shot. 

          she could NOT go back to akande with another failure. a flick, and her goggles were down, and she was aiming again.
