Your OC, Vasya sitting on the edge of the roof, was on my dash (I’m not in that group and I really do not want to join it lol) and I wanted to say it looks fucking fantastic!!!!!
The washed out colors really accentuate the doom and gloom atmosphere + makes it feel like a cold, shitty overcast day. Also, the way they go from crisp(er) to muddled towards the background really does numbers for the depth.
Something I rarely pay attention to is the loss of detail from foreground to background which I really noticed in this one. The lines furthest away just automatically register to me as “well yeah that’s a skyline” but when I actually look at them, they’re just squiggles, which is really cool that you’ve managed to inform that through a couple of squigs.
The thing that most caught my attention (and the main reason I’m here in your inbox) is the composition, specifically the vanishing point. The fact that everything in the frame guides you to Vasya, but the vanishing point itself isn’t centered on them, is really interesting to me.
Everytime the vanishing point is precisely centered on the subject I’m like “ohHhHh who are you supposed to be, Jesus?” But the fact that it seems to be focused on the negative space near them makes me sad on this piece. As if Vasya isn’t even (feeling) important enough to be the focus of the piece that’s about them.
Which, could be projection! But they’re sitting on the edge of a rooftop, and the atmosphere is sad and gloomy. Even if not intentional, it was definitely a great choice!!
