I don’t think I’m crazy to say that Deltarune has been foreshadowing Kruselle or Kralsuselle the entire time. Like, there’s a lot of references to polyamory throughout the game and specific references to the Fun Gang being a polycule. I also don’t think Toby is the type of guy to pull a Naruto and reduce the complex web of pining to several monogamous couples (fuck you Kishimoto, I’ll never forgive you)

I do think there’s something lost in Vex meeting Laudna so early. In the campaign, Vex is getting confronted with something she’s 30 years removed from. She has lived the majority of her life post-Briarwoods at this point, she has been living in and helping to lead a rebuilt Whitestone for decades. Laudna showing up not only triggers the traumatic memory of the Sun Tree but also signals that in all this time, Delilah was never truly gone and the past was never truly behind her.

In TLoVM, it’s only been a year or two. Whitestone is still recovering and the Orb is still an active mystery. Vex hasn’t gotten true closure on Delilah yet and she hasn’t let her guard down. Meeting Laudna is still upsetting for her but it isn’t really haunting in the same way.
