Hi, I love the insect art you did for Menagerie so much! I was wondering do you find references for the different species and what do you do when reference images aren’t at the angle you need them to be? Thank you!

Sometimes I had plenty of references, but other times they were practically nonexistent (for the fairy fly, I only had a couple of microscope images!).
When I didn’t have an exact reference, I used and adapted body structures from species in the same order of insects. The great thing about arthropods is that their parts work very well “separately” because they’re jointed.
