omgomg look, i just discovered flying gurnards and they’re so cute ‘n unique. they actually have like lil fish feet they use to walk on the ocean floor + search for food (fish in the gif reminds me of birds shaking their butt with their wings spread to get a girl)

so cute!! i love their fins! they're semi-transparent, but they come in some really pretty colors🥺🥺🥺 i cannot stop looking at 2nd pic it's too cute

just did a little research on them and they extend their fins to glide through the air and escape danger😭 omg

Hai haiiii

It’s been a while since I popped into your asks so (if it’s alright with you) I have decided to impulsively jump into your inbox about a random muffin [story] time about an embarrassing moment that happened to me last year

So I was in this rock band club thing where me and a bunch of teens would play songs together and at the end of the year we would play songs we learnt to anyone who bought a ticket (our parents), I did my last one before I move away for university like last week

But I made an absolute fool of myself last year and it still keeps me up at night what I did

We were about to play ‘Time is Running Out’ by muse, great song and I knew the whole rhythm guitar section of by heart and could play it confidently and sound amazing

But last year

I forgot to tune my guitar.

And played it on stage. Out of tune. Loudly.

I thought I’d be fine bro I tuned my guitar before I left the house I didn’t think it was me that was out of tune I thought it was the bassist that was out of tune not me and when I went backstage everyone was rushing around trying to figure out who it was cause it was so loud and obvious and when they realised it was me my friend and teacher (who is an actual sweetheart so it’s okay) could not stop laughing at me and it just loomed over me for the rest of the day.

Like every single time before I went on stage again they’d just say ‘make sure you’re in tune everyone, not looking at anyone in particular of course’ whilst smiling at me 😭

IN MY DEFENCE there was a bassist out of tune as well but the bass wasn’t as loud as a guitar BUT I did proceed to play Square Hammer by Ghost absolutely perfectly so I mean I did redeem myself by the end

But my parents lied to me and said it wasn’t that obvious but my friend sent me the video (and likes to send it to me randomly sometimes) and lord almighty does it haunt me I cannot listen to the song normally anymore it was so so bad 😭

Anyway that was my random rant for the day (if this is annoying feel free to just delete this I do not mind)

besides guitar, do you play any other instrument? i learned guitar and piano when i was younger, i was starting to get into bass but i stopped🥺 i have a LOOONG time not playing anything so i'm afraid i forgot everything

Yeeee I only got into them because of the club where we’ve done 3 songs of theirs (my mums husband hates them 😭) and they’re so good!!

Yeah it was insane, and our singer couldn’t hit the high notes either so like the majority of us just went out without a damn clue

Yeah, thank you so much for saying that 🖤 the only mistakes I made this year thankfully was that I stood directly behind the singer for the first song so like no one could see me and also when my guitar teacher called me out on stage to give a goodbye speech I was too busy packing up my guitar and couldn’t hear so thankfully nothing as bad as an out of tune guitar but everytime I bring it up to another guitarist there’s always an immediate ‘oh god I’ve been there’ so it’s not just me as well, it’s a canon event I fear 😭

I play a bit of ukulele but only through the last year whilst I’ve been playing guitar for like 11 years now?? I also knew how to play the James Bond theme and the Jaws leitmotif on piano at some point in time.

singing is hard😭 how did your singer cope with that? did they lower the pitch? did they adjust the note? Or did they just let their voice crack?

yesss, i did! and honestly i've always loved the drums, so that was also one of the instruments i wanted to play, but like i said i stopped it so yea i couldn't😭
