art wip of my rook before i force myself to do relevant things on here for once

this is my baby simonetta the maker's most emotionally unstable contract killer. her hair is eventually going to be darker but this is where i started apparently. one interesting side effect of rping cvijeta for nearly 12 years is that apparently i can't draw characters with non curly hair, so that's also fun!

anyway sorry things irl have just been unbelievably chaotic and stressful and there's still no end in sight but god i feel really bad for doing absolutely NOTHING all year. so i guess i'm going to force myself. hopefully

It was magical and beautiful. It was girlhood. Mer cracked open the bathroom door ever so slightly to show off her legs wrapped in fishnets. She kicked her leg high before saying, “You’re going to love this!” In a voice filled with joy.

The door swung open and the woman posed in her leotard, fishnets, and laced up shoes. “I believe, I’m going to scare the crowd with this one.” She flexed in front of Cvijeta, simply living in the moment. “Should I put on the mask? I think it’ll be scarier that way.” Of course, everyone is afraid of a tiny glittered makeshift wrestler.

Cvita was busy fastening her substantial curls into something that would stay mostly out of the way, when the door opened to reveal her friend in full garb. A noise of delight escaped her; admittedly it was hard to envision all of this when the idea had come up, but she couldn't escape the feeling that it was all starting to come together.

"We're certainly going to make an impression," came the laughter-laced response as she stuck out her own leg for show, nodding appreciatively at the complimentary color schemes. Normally she would object to any and all attempts to cover up her most prized asset, but...

"It certainly does add to the mystique, now, doesn't it? We already look like quite the pair. Everyone is going to want to know our story."

we haven't interacted much lately but i always love your energy. you're always incredibly lovely to talk to and full of ideas that make plotting a joy. i love how much passion has gone into lily as a character and how tangible it is in everything you do with her. it's always such a great thing to see someone feel that way about a creation they've had for a long time. i also really liked where we were going with lily and cvita's relationship last time we plotted and i hope we get a chance to go back to that! i hope you stick around in the comm for a while longer because you genuinely are such a positive part of it, both in terms of your creative output and you as a person!

katie my beloved 🥺 you are genuinely one of the people that make me genuinely keep wanting to come back to this comm time and time again. every time you tell me about an idea you have i'm just left in awe of your creativity and i genuinely really admire your willingness to be a little silly with your plots. it's so refreshing and it makes mer and all your other ocs really feel unique.

i'm so sorry we haven't written together lately as much as i would really like to but every time we do talk you're so easy to talk to and plot with and i'm just overall so happy to have you as a writing partner. also mer and cvita's friendship is so funny and delightful, i love the antics they get up to and the way they look out for each other. also the edits you make are always gorgeous, i admire the effort you put into your blogs so much.

also hey this isn't meant to call anyone out or make them feel bad, just a general statement i'm sure you've all seen a million times, but as a writer and artist and also someone who just last night watched friends panic about their work being scraped off ao3 without their permission to train ai, it really has no place in fandom whatsoever. people engage with fandom so they can make connections with real people and see what unique things those other people bring to the table, and i know it doesn't feel like it sometimes but quality of work was never really the point. and even if it is you're not going to get that by pasting together a bunch of things someone else worked hard on. that's all.
