Decor to the Max Flooring Revisited

When the sneak peaks first dropped for the Decor to the Max kit, I was super excited. I noticed the floors, and at the time couldn't really tell what I was looking at. Were they tile? Carpet? I finally downloaded a game and saw that they were "tile", but...they had no sheen or texture to them.

I did some digging and realized that I was right, and they literally had no specular or normal files. They were the equivalent of slapping a .jpg file on your sims floors. I've been working on these ever since then, and I'm so excited to finally share! Each one matches the original color story, but I've also included black and white swatches.

Dew Your Best! Dew Collector

Don’t get me wrong, I love making my sims’ houses as eco friendly as possible. But honestly, spamming their back yards with those massive umbrella dew collectors is clunky and unrealistic. These are normal sized, unbreakable, and collect twice as much water as the high-end Eco Lifestyle dew collector, so you only need to place a few to see a dent in your bills.

I know there’s a lot of resentment towards kits but truth be told, I was really excited for Décor to the Max. I was already really into the style, and the new items pair so well with stuff we already had. So! I made a palette based on the the Max color story. I’ll probably put together some photoshop actions soon, but ultimately I’m just looking forward to messing around and making new coordinating sets.

Do you ever start out trying to make CC for yourself and then get sidetracked and end up working on something completely different? Yeah, thats what happened here. 

The Plucky Planter Box!

I’m working on a big gardening project in my game and thought it would be real stinkin’ cute to have the base game planter box match the new chicken coops that came with Cottage Living! This is fully base game compatible, as I’ve just recolored the basic wooden planter box we all know and love. Swatch thumbnails are identical so matching is easy peasy.

Got tired of the base game clawfoot tub with its dated, not-so-vintage-chic curtain and color palette, so I made my own! Also brightened it up because tubs should not be off-white...gross. 

Just a simple recolor, so no mesh or anything needed. Base game friendly!

My first real upload on this blog!

I’ve really been loving the cane trend in contemporary furniture lately so I gave everyone’s favorite mid-century bed a little makeover, plus three new sheet sets. Get Famous is required.
