Cusco, Peru: Tourist Boleto grant access of tourists to 16 Sites
Cusco, Peru, in short, is amazing. There really is no other city, as in the world. To take advantage of everything the city and its surrounding area has to offer, it's definitely worth it to invest in Boleto Turistico (tourist ticket), for a low price, provides access to 16 different historical and cultural sites of interest. The ticket costs 70 soles (about $ 20 USD) or 35 soles (about $ 10 USD) with student ID and provides access to the following sites: the Cathedral, Iglesia de San Blas, the Museo de Arte religious Arzobispado, Museo de Arte y Monasterio de Santa Catalina, the museum site to Qoricahncha, Museo Municipal de Arte Contemporaneo, Museo Historico Regional (Casa Garcilaso), and the nearby ruins of Sacsayhuaman, Qenco, Puca Pucara, Tambomachay, Pisac, Ollantaytambo, Chinchero Tipon and Pikillacta. While some of the museums that are included are quite small and most interesting museums such as El Museo del Inca, are not included in Boleto Tourist, buying a ticket will save you money even if you only want to visit two archaeological sites. For example, the Tourist Boleto you can access the ruins of Ollantaytambo, the ticket without the ticket is 70 Soles, the same purchase price of the Boleto Tourism. In Cusco you can buy in Avenida del Sol Tourist Boleto the Municipalidad, one block away from Plaza de Armas. The museums included in the ticket can easily be visited in one day. The ruins are, however, farther and need to take a bus. I highly recommend a visit to Sacsayhuaman, Pisac and Ollantaytambo. Sacsayhuaman is a short 15 minute walk uphill from the Plaza de Armas in Cusco. It is usually the first site of Inca ruins that most visitors see, and thankfully does not disappoint. On the contrary, the huge, perfectly cut stones that the Incas are known to abound. They are placed in a zig-zag formation of large-scale recalls the shape of the mountains behind, the typical Inca architecture, which reflects the surrounding environment. Perhaps because of this technique to mimic the local environment in architecture, every Inca archaeological site seems to have something completely new. The site of Pisac is an hour bus ride away from Cusco, but it is equally spectacular. The hike to the ruins is beautiful, passing through the impressive Inca terracing that is kept up to date, but it is extremely steep. Once at the top of the mountain you are rewarded with breathtaking views of the valley and the extensive Inca buildings that speckle the tops of the mountains. Ollantaytambo is best seen on the way to or returning from Machu Picchu. Although nothing beats the famous Machu Picchu, Ollantaytambo not to be missed. The whole city is a living relic of Inca, with houses and streets as they were during the Inca period, and using some of the irrigation system itself. If you've done all the way to Cusco, do not miss out these unforgettable destinations. Buy Boleto Tourism, save money and have the freedom to visit some of the most spectacular places in the world.
