I was thinking of Jill today in re3r ducking under the shutter to lead Nemesis away and also the scene at the end where she didn't want to shoot Carlos but did so because they both knew it was the only where it could turn the tables on Nikolai (and people think she should have arrested the wanker and brought him with them. Honestly the moment they landed he would have attacked them.)

And it's a half baked thought but I was I also thinking of the Lost in Nightmares story where Jill sacrifices herself to save Chris and struggling to think of anything in the OG (and revelations 1) that was similar.

I was also thinking I wish things were easier to find because what is the difference between dormant virus (re9) and long incubation period (one of the things Jill was afraid of in re3r)

For a fast pasted game Re3r set up a lot more games (Jill's story, re4r, re7 and re9) than re2r ever did which is just so annoying and I wish people would give credit where it was due. Like we learn so much of Umbrella's shit in re2r and it would have killed capcom to have Claire talk about the weirdly worded message from her brother the reason she is in this hell after finding it? Honestly

People who actually played RE3R do think its a good game but a bad remake. People who haven't played RE3R and shit on it are poorly parroting the combo of these two different thoughts by saying its a bad game altogether. If you really struggled with getting stunlocked that is a skill issue the same way if you struggled with having to hear Ashley constantly scream for you in the og RE4.

I've seen some legitimate complaints about how they changed the stories in RE2R to be less overlapped and connecting as a significant quality downgrade, but once again you can't hear it over all the Leon glazing this website does. I'm so sure a lot of genuine critiques of the quality and writing of these games get pushed down by Leon glazing, the flood of xreader posts from people who did a wiki scan of the characters when new content is dropped, and people just parroting the worst takes and jokes like the Redfield bloodline one, ugh.

Then again, a lot of people saying they loved RE9 have kinda consistently been people who've only played RE2R, RE4R, and then RE7 onward, so how can I really trust their opinions on any other game in the first place.

I love critiques of re3r (read I want to break pottery and make a mosaic either of something pretty or just make it say fuck off) that shit on Carlos especially when the series is so overly white and making Jill seem less capable as she is when in re3r she is capable, but also dealing with less sleep than Carlos is so how the fuck is "she tripping over nothing waiting for Carlos to save her" OP also said jeans and a tank top is less practical than the OG's (still waiting for that list of poc characters in re that are recurring and alive... guys anyone I have one myself and I want to see how it matches up...hmm wonder why no one is)

Sorry to get to this ask late as I forgot what OP this is referring to, but the timing of this is perfect since I'm blocking people going "DONT FUCK UP VERONICA LIKE YOU DID RE3." As if RE3R isn't a perfectly good game that didn't have a transphobic caricature of a main villain where the english localization team wanted so badly to have Claire call him a faggot but had to settle for "crossdressing freak" due to censors.

Not like I'm terrified of what they're going to do with Rodrigo, the only hispanic character in that game, who's the security guard who releases Claire when the island is going to shit. Will they give him the same treatment from the OG game where you try to save him twice, once from Claire's perspective with the medicine, and the other with Chris where he fails to save him from the giant worm? Will they give him the same treatment as the black pilot from RE9 where he's important for all of 2.5 minutes and then kill him immediately? Will they make him gross or do the brown saviour bit so he "dies heroically for the white woman" thus further removing Claire's agency as well? Who knows! Considering they made both Luis and Carlos visibly brown, I wonder if they'll give the same treatment to Steve. I think it'd be great if they made natural redheads more angry by changing "one of their own" to a black character as has been done kinda randomly in this past decade and a half. But he also dies at the end like Luis, so maybe they're debating the decision and how it'd look.

I saw the terrifying information that they're going to ADD MORE information to the game to make it more inline with the other games. Which sounds to me like they're just going to add more to make the bullshit RE9 gave us make sense. Another insult to injury, as CV already makes sense within the original timeline. We see Wesker survived the mansion incident and that he's beefed up with a virus which explains Lost in Nightmares and RE5. We know the Veronica virus has to have a long gestation period or there will be consequences which connects to Operation Javier, where Krauser is also there to witness what power comes from infection. We know Claire contacts Leon who then contacts Chris so that he can even arrive to the island to look for her which connects back to RE2. What else is there to connect?

Hahah what are you planning capcom, haha. Is this gonna be some more awkwardly thrown in Connections nonsense and Spencer redemption? If that's actually Hunk in the reveal trailer, I'll blow the whole building up. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
